The relationship between The Walt Disney Company and LEGO has been incredibly fruitful for both sides. Given the massive overlap in both fanbases, it’s a natural connection between the two companies.

LEGO has produced multiple full-size versions of Cinderella Castle, a new Beauty and the Beast Castle, Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship, and dozens of sets to celebrate Disney’s 100th Anniversary. However, LEGO has very rarely attempted to recreate an entire Disney ride.

In 2022, LEGO released a miniature version of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. However, that version did not include many of the details of the Haunted Mansion, and as a miniature, it was mainly about the ride’s exterior.

Most of LEGO’s Disney sets have focused on famous Disney films like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Home Alone, Hocus Pocus, Lilo and Stitch, Moana, Up, Frozen, Star Wars, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. However, LEGO fans have been working on recreating some famous Disney rides, and they could be available to the public soon.

LEGO accepts set submissions from fans through its LEGO Ideas website. The website currently has dozens of LEGO sets based on Disney films/attractions. However, those sets will not become available to the general public until the set reaches 10,000 supporters.

Once a set reaches the 10,000 threshold, LEGO puts it under review, which takes weeks to complete. During the review process, LEGO designers put the set together and determine how feasible it would be to recreate.

A new set just reached the 10,000 supporter threshold, and if it makes it to stores, Disney fans will go crazy. A LEGO fan’s set recreating the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror has now entered the review process at LEGO.

The set measures 15 inches long, 15.7 inches wide, and almost 16 inches high. According to its description, “This hotel includes a hall, a heating room, two libraries, and three elevator shafts. The hotel gardens are full of trees, and the interior and exterior of the building are very detailed.”

The set is based on the ride at Disneyland Paris, but looks similar to the attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While this is an exciting first step, it could take months before the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror set arrives in stores, if it ever does. Check out some of the other potential LEGO sets here, especially the set based on the Disney monorail.
