Concealed carry has been legal forever in florida. Open carry will be legal but no one will carry in that way. This is a misguided post. People in glorida have always carried guns, they just concealed them.

    1. Frank

And most of them have no business even owning a gun .

      1. Jim

Why? What is your standard to carry? I didn’t realize you knew more than the men who founded our country and wrote the Constitution.

      2. Zookeeper63

And who made you arbiter of 2nd Amendment RIGHTS?

      3. Tim

What a completely uninformed comment. You personally know every person in this country and their character to be able to say that? Of course not, you are just another person who believes the government should only enforce YOUR will on the people.

      4. Tim

You want the government to only enforce your will on the people… a very facist way of thinking.

      5. Walt

        in your pea brained opinion…

        Cry harder little one

      7. Ajfjamdhw

Why? Because you disagree with their political views?

Open carry may deter some to do any harm to others when they see a gun. Most of us here in Florida are licensed to carry and considering this crazy world, I feel safer if I carried mine.

American has lost its mind, more guns means higher chance of being shot. Just because you have a gun doesn’t stop you getting shot, it probably increases the chances.

    1. RowdyE

Actually, you are completely wrong. It is proven that criminals. No guns are present. They will avoid those places committing their crimes, as they don’t wanna get shot themselves.

      1. Ricky Kirkland

That is very true! It’s much better odds for us if we can legally carry openly to deter Criminals and allow them to be the only ones with firearms. I myself hardly ever open carry as I do consider that it might alarm parents with small children, but I do enjoy the fact that I can if I want to. I also know that if I need to, I can protect those kids for their parents too.

100% untrue. I have guns—-not once has one of them killed anyone. But keep up the propaganda Lenin.

So Florida is joining 46 other states. Does that mean that there are only three states that are safe now? No. It means that there are only three left that have no regard for the constitution. I still carry concealed. My absolute, God-given right to carry open is now an option on those hot Florida days when it is hard to conceal my gun with a t-shirt. The fact that I am more comfortable is unlikely to inspire a killing spree. Thank you First District Court of Appeals.

God has nothing to do with guns.

      1. Walt

Are you God? You certainly are god or want to be

It’s about time Florida has come to their senses and comes back th the constitution. I no longer need to worry over about accidentally showing.

I am a Florida resident. In addition to Disney, I will not be patronizing Walmart, Costco, Publix, Target, or other places where I might encounter Florida Man and his firearm in the parking lot or inside the building. Amazon and other online retailers will get most of my business. It’s cheaper, it’s easier, and IT’S SAFER.

    1. Widjfbwkg

Yeah, safer for us to not have to be around you.

    2. Cjarr

Do you not patronize those places now? Or are you naive enough to believe that “Florida Man” isn’t currently carrying right now just because it’s concealed and you don’t see it?

  7. Nick

Wouldnt it be easy to just go up and grab the loaded holstered gun from a non large muscular person? If its secured in the holster can it be remove quickly to defend one self? Either risk having it used on the owner or winding up in the hands of a criminal?

  8. ConLaw

Have none of you been here in Texas. We can open carry and most people aren’t stupid enough to carry a sidearm in public. Look for any news on people robbing gas stations, liquor stores and grocery stores. They rarely make it past the parking lot.
