  1. Anti-Remakes

If movie companies were smart (which they’re not) they would FREAKING STOP REBOOTING EVERY SINGLE FRANCHISE EVER MADE!

Warwick Davis reprising his role isn’t one of the casting problems. Casting people who don’t even remotely resemble the character descriptions in the books is a problem. I will not be watching this series.

I am looking forward to this series. I always felt that the movies didn’t do justice to the books, at least in the movies after episode 2. And don’t get me started on how David Yates did his best to ruin the films. I want to see more details from the books come to life, deeper character development and this new series should be able to do that.

Warwick Davis is a great actor. I’ve enjoyed him in his many roles. He brings a lot to every character he portrays. His character in Harry Potter will not detract from the reboot, but add to it. I welcome him back.

I’m not commenting on the whether the actors selected for other roles are not as described in the book. That will remain to be seen as they develop the roles, costuming, and makeup.

I think this new reboot is pointless and unnecessary and proves again there is no originality left in Hollywood. All we get are reboots and 15 sequels abd prequels to movies and TV we’ve already seen. Look at TV. Chicago this and Chicago that. Law and order Canada and everywhere else. Blue blood Massachusetts. The Harry Potter movies were fine, just because a handful of people were offended about something doesn’t mean it needed to be redone. Honestly I hope it fails miserably. And I’m a HUGE HP fan but this is a slap in the face to those of us that grew up with the originals

I think Adding Warrick Davis is a wonderful addition. Bringing back his original characger is a plus. He will add to the series. Hes. Great actor and it may detract from the fact that they cast the wrong actors for Dumbledore and Snape.

I always like Warwick Davis, I think he will be great in a role he already mastered. I am having a problem with some of the characters that don’t resemble the characters they are supposed to be reprising. Looking forward to the new series with extended story lines.

As usual the whiners, including some of these commenters, are complaining about things that don’t make sense.
There have ALWAYS been remakes. (e.g.: “The Three Musketeers”, “Treasure Island”, “Les Miserables”, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”, “Dracula”, “Frankenstein”, Moby Dick”, “Sherlock Holmes”, “Seven Samurai”, “Yojimbo”, anything by Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, Edgar Allan Poe, Jane Austen, Jules Verne, Agatha Christie, etc., etc., etc. Some have been remade more than 100 times.)
There have ALWAYS been sequels. (e.g.: “Yojimbo”, “Sherlock Holmes”, “Dick Tracy”, “James Bond”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “Miss Marple”, “Cheaper By the Dozen”, “Father of the Bride”, The Apu Trilogy, The Three Colors Trilogy, The Samurai Trilogy, Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time Trilogy & The Man With No Name Trilogy, The Thin Man series, The Blondie series, “Ma & Pa Kettle”, The Andy Hardy family series, the Universal Studios monster movies, etc., etc., etc. Some series had more than 20 sequels.)
A TV series is different than a movie series. Any TRUE fan would welcome the opportunity to include more from the books than the movies could, including better character development.
Casting the same actors to play the same characters can only be a plus.
Using the same sets means the production will cost less money, so the show is less likely to be cancelled for monetary reasons.
&, last, but not least, there’s no way to know whether any new actor looks the part until we see them in full makeup.
I think the naysayers just like to hear themselves complain & the attention their whining gets. Otherwise, why would they make such rediculous complaints?
