Being in a wheelchair or having a spinal injury has nothing to do with blunt impacts and lacerations. Rollercoasters are designed to safely hold passengers who are completely unresponsive, because people pass out on them frequently. There is a need for responsible reporting in matters like this.
All but the head and neck. There is no ride of the planet that restrains your neck and head. So if he passes out, his head would be bobbling around like a new born baby. Seems to me, that’s what happened. He passed out and his head was bouncing off everything around him. I understand where you are coming from, bit at the same time, if you have any kind of spinal injury you have no business being on any roller coaster. Me and my wife were theme park fanatics. We went to Universal and Disney as often as possible. We especially loved roller coasters and still do. But a few years ago, tje wife got a spinal injury from a really bad slip and fall at work. She can’t ride those kind of rides anymore. Beings he was in a wheel chair and had a spinal injury, I can guarantee he went against Drs. orders and got on anyway. Which most of us would do too. It’s sad what happened it really is. This should really wake people up and make them think twice about ignoring Drs. orders. Please don’t get me wrong, I feel so bad for his family, and I mean no disrespect. I was just saying what I think is what happened. I don’t want to see anyone die in any way. I wish we all could live forever.
While I’m sorry for his friends and family, he should have known better than to ride considering he had spinal issues. His family/girlfriend failed him by not talking him out of riding.
