On September 3, 2025, Walt Disney World Resort announced a closure at one of its Value Resort hotels: Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. The refurbishment project will begin in just five days and continue through late October.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is one of three sister Value Resorts alongside Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. These Disney Resort hotels feature vibrant, larger-than-life themes and are often the cheapest accommodations at Walt Disney World Resort (besides a tent campsite at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort). Even though Disney offers several other budget-friendly hotels in Central Florida, like Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, the All-Stars are almost always the cheapest, with sales occasionally bringing the nightly cost under $100.

However, families with young children might want to reconsider an upcoming stay at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. On Wednesday, Walt Disney World Resort’s website posted an official notice informing guests that the hotel’s iconic Fantasia kiddie pool and water play area would be closed for maintenance from September 8 through late October 2025.

“From September 8 through late October, the Fantasia kiddie pool and water play area at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for maintenance,” Walt Disney World Resort wrote. “During this time, the Fantasia Feature Pool and Duck Pond Pool will remain open and Guests are also welcome to use the kiddie pools at Disney’s All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts. Guests may see or hear maintenance activity throughout the construction period.”

Typically, Walt Disney World Resort guests can only use the pool area at the hotel they’re staying at, with locked gates only accessible with an active physical or digital room key or MagicBand attached to a valid Disney Resort reservation. During the refurbishment, though, Disney’s All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts are opening their kiddie pools to All-Star Movies Resort guests.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t announced an exact end date for the Fantasia kiddie pool refurbishment at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
