Ride closures are a harsh truth when it comes to any theme park, not just the Disney resorts. However, it’s especially disappointing when an iconic ride like Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, or The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is offline during your vacation.

We highly recommend checking ride and attraction refurbishment calendars before your trip so you are as prepared as possible before you even set foot into places like Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Closures don’t just affect Disney’s domestic theme parks, however, with Disneyland Paris facing a pretty big closure of its own right now.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is now closed at Disneyland. This popular thrill ride has been part of Disneyland Park in Paris since 1993. However, guests looking for the classic experience found with Disneyland’s original Indiana Jones Adventure are out of luck, as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is its own beast.

The ride won’t be offline for long, however, as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is set to return on October 3, 2025.

Instead of simply copying Disneyland’s Indiana Jones attraction, Disneyland Paris instead crafted a runaway roller coaster thrill ride.

“Sent to investigate what happened to an earlier expedition, you soon discover something is far from normal in the Temple of Peril,” explains Disneyland Paris on the ride’s official webpage. “The base camp is deserted of people yet full of their clothes, food, and equipment. A sudden exit seems likely. But why? Above the swaying canopies stands a temple ruin, below your feet is a well-trodden path.”

The attraction is a thrilling, somewhat simple roller coaster, but it has proven to be one of the park’s biggest hits over the years.

“The rickety cart climbs a chain lift to the top of the excavation site. You look for signs of life, but before you can catch your breath a mysterious force sends the cart into an out-of-control spiral of twists and turns through the darkest corners of this cursed ruin. Forget finding your friends, you’re going to need all the courage of Indiana Jones to get out alive!”

A lot is happening both inside and out at Disneyland Paris Resort, with all kinds of new rides, attractions, experiences, and lands now in development. Perhaps the most exciting project is Disneyland Paris’ upcoming new ride based on The Lion King.

This not only marks the first time the iconic animated Disney film will have its own major theme park attraction, but it also marks the first log flume experience to open at Disney and Paris. The attraction will be located inside Disney Adventure World, and the new name will be given to Walt Disney Studios Park.

“Brought to life through state-of-the-art special effects and advanced Audio-Animatronics technology, this new attraction will be one of the biggest at Disneyland Paris,” says Disney, “featuring three exciting slopes – including an impressive 52-foot-high descent! ”
