Cast members should not be allowed to wear costumes opposite of their biological sea. I should not have to explain to my kids why an obvious male is wearing a dress. If it is part of a show is one thing, but if they are performing one of the hundreds of guest facing positions it should be restricted.

I retired from WDW after over 16 years and saw a lot of changes. The “inclusive” look was disappointing. We were there for the guests and not to express ourselves. We were known for our clean cut all American look not bad beards or guys with shaggy hair and females with odd color fingernails. Makes wearing female costumes was especially disturbing. If a cast member can’t wear a smart watch because it may be a distraction then they shouldn’t be able to wear anything that would distract guest from the magic. I haven’t gone to the parks since I retired. I have good memories of the old Walt Disney World but do not miss the new Disney World.

  3. I’m still confused as to the requirement to not wear a smart watch. It’s amazing how many steps I walk while at Disney.

Rules are meant to be followed whether you like them or not. You agreed to the rules before employment. Accepting the job is your agreement to follow them. That is a big part of Disney’s mystique.

I can understand the don’t wear smart watches, that could end up as bad as texting and driving and as for the all inclusiveness Disney employees come from all walks of life and i understand some wanting to represent their nationality or religious constraint’s.

I don’t agree with men wearing female uniforms. Stop punishing this gender thing in our faces and our children faces. What the heck happened to the Disney of yesteryear, where it was all about family and happy things? Stop clearing the way for your workers to express their sexuality! it’s about the guests and their families having a great magical time!
Not about the cast members, their job is to spread the magic nothing else@

Earlier this year my friend filmed me being cheered by the ladies, only to discover one had a mustache. We deleted the video and was very disappointed that Disney allowed this. Concerning the smartwatch, that makes sense to me.

Today’s smartwatches are capable of monitoring a number of health issues. If a cast member can produce a note from a doctor saying that the smartwatch would benefit the cast member in this way, I think he/she should be allowed to wear it.

I’m diabetic. I have a CGM, a constant glucose monitor to warn me if my glucose gets too high or too low. Guess what? If it gets either way I could fall into a diabetic coma. Then I wouldn’t be watching anything. I don’t need a smart watch, but I do need to have my phone on me with bluetooth enabled. Perhaps Disney needs to update their policy to keep up with modern life saving technology.

The thing that bothers me is Disney doesn’t pay their cast members more than minimum wage? If I understood that correctly, then shame on Disney! Walt would have known that wasn’t enough to live on. They keep raising the prices and they’ve done away with free dash pass. The trip we’re about to go on has cost me $6k plus and that’s not including what we’ll pay when we get there. Parking fees are outrageous for every night you stay there. It’s more than safe to say this will likely be our last time going. With all those charges, it’s hard to understand why the cat members don’t make more than minimum wage. I don’t want to see men in dresses at the park either. I feel like, you do you, when you’re off work.
