While there’s never really an “off season” when it comes to the Disney theme parks, certain times of the year are definitely more crowded than others. Holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s bring in lots of guests, both at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as Disney’s international resorts.

However, Christmas has and likely always will be king, with Disney throwing all kinds of special, limited-time events, parties, and other experiences to help ring in the most wonderful time of the year.

With Christmas right around the corner, guests are likely already planning their Disney vacations. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party begins at Walt Disney World in November, with special festive events also starting soon at Disneyland.

However, Tokyo Disney Resort is shaking things up this year.

Tokyo Disney has announced that a new parade will replace its Christmas-themed Disney Christmas Stories this holiday season. The new parade, Toys Wondrous Christmas! will run once daily, stopping between Westernland and Fantasyland as well as in the Plaza and Tomorrowland.

Toys Wondrous Christmas! will feature iconic characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Donald and Daisy Duck, as well as several more.

“Santa Claus and his merry elves have been busy at the toy factory, getting toys ready for all the children,” reads the description of the parade. “The shiny new toys join Mickey Mouse and his friends for a fun-filled and magical celebration. The parade begins with Santa Claus’ toy factory, where the toys are being made, and features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Pete, as well as teddy bears dressed up for Christmas, toy vehicles, wooden blocks, and a nutcracker marching band.”

Toys Wondrous Christmas! officially kicks off on November 11 and will run through December 25, 2025.

Disney Christmas Stories has been performed since 2015, with the new Toys Wondrous Christmas! marking the end of a nearly 10-year-old tradition.

“With a little Christmas magic, the toys come to life for a unique and lively performance of music and dance, bringing heartwarming moments to the toys’ Christmas celebration,” continues Tokyo Disney. “When everyone’s wishes come true and the guests are filled with smiles and happiness, the Disney friends, Santa Claus and the toys celebrate together, creating a truly magical and unforgettable Christmas.”

The Tokyo Disney Resort opened in 1983, originally only featuring  single theme park, Tokyo Disneyland. The resort expanded in 2001 with a second theme park, Tokyo DisneySea, something many fans now consider to be the very best Disney theme park ever built.

Home to both classic attractions and exclusive, never-before-seen rides, Tokyo Disney offers a very special Disney experience. Alongside the parks, Tokyo Disney Resort also boasts six Disney themed hotels as well as its own shopping center.
