Disney policy, the employees would have been fired for fighting back and Disney would apologize the the scuba guy. Many years ago I worked for UPS, in the time of COD packages. UPS hired 2 off duty cops to supervise the counting of the cash at the end of the night. Some companies care about employee safety, some do not.
Definitely something “Fishy” going on with this robbery at Paddlefish 🤔.
Thief must be a fortune teller 😏. He knew time of clearing cash count, location of office and how to navigate in the dark waters. It won’t be long before someone on the inside is arrested. 👮♂️
The gear is expensive as is the hobby in general. There must be traces. First alot of people rent the wet suits and tank even if the own their own fins, mask and BCD. Even if he owned all his gear he would have to fill that tank somewhere.
I would check dive shops in a big radius for possible leads just based on that alone.
He had to enter and exit the waer somewher and surveillance cameras are all over Disney property including walkways around the lake and Saratoga Springs. If its an inside job I am sure at some point in the past they would have talked about the interest in scuba.
Check PADI and SSI for names cross referenced to an employee list.
I think it was an inside job. Maybe a fired employee. Someone knew the layout and where the money was. No weapon, 2 against 1, they should have tired to detain him and call law enforcement. Something smells fishy.
The place also opened the next day with no delay. I wonder if possible DNA water droppings for DNA facial recognition was collected? DNA can used for genetic analysis with facial recognition technology to predict physical traits, including facial features, from DNA data, so if the scuba gear was frequently used, DNA may have been in the water trail left behind.
There is something odd about this. He took off his tank, wetsuit, etc., tried to spray paint a camera, found the employees who were counting the cash, threatened them, tied them up, got back in his wetsuit, tank, etc., and took off all within 2 minutes? Maybe he wasn’t wearing a wetsuit, tank, etc., but wouldn’t security or someone have seen someone swimming at night? Much less someone swimming with a bag or something to hold spray paint and money. It really sounds like some kind of inside job.

More like $20000 under the sea
Lisa
It definitely seems to be an inside job.

Totally agree. No way I’m not fighting back against someone who literally has zero weapons. The employees are lying. Doesn’t add up at all.

I thought the same thing as no way the person was in and out as well as knowing the few people that would be there.

Also having a daughter who scuba dived, you just don’t slip into the wet suit that quickly

Reminds me of the pig mask heist at the Bellagio in Vegas
