New construction walls have appeared near Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, blocking a large guest area. The changes follow earlier construction on the border of Batuu and Toy Story Land this summer.

On August 31, WDWNT reported that a courtyard near the lightsaber building experience at Walt Disney World Resort has been blocked off by several construction walls. This walkway, which usually features some umbrellas and planters, is where guests wait to check into Savi’s Workshop.

Now, the entire courtyard has been blocked off by traditional wooden construction walls and tightly pulled tarps. Both barriers are a tan/beige color, making them blend into the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge atmosphere as much as possible.

The construction walls wrap around almost the entire courtyard area, so Disney Park guests can’t see what’s happening behind them. Savi’s Workshop remains open, but the umbrellas that usually provide shade for guests waiting to check in have either been removed or relocated to the small part of the courtyard that hasn’t been blocked off by construction walls.

This latest news comes after construction walls appeared in the walkway between Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge earlier this summer. Rainbow, toy-themed walls line the Toy Story Land side, while similar beige walls line the Batuu side. Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t said much about this construction, but permits hint at plans for a food kiosk on the Toy Story Land side.

Walt Disney World Resort has yet to share any details about the new construction walls near Savi’s Workshop. Guests can still make reservations for the lightsaber building experience; walk-up availability is extremely limited.
