That’s the perfect time to go. My brother and I went in September 2022. The park was fairly empty without a bunch of kids. We had to leave by 3 p.m., as that’s when they switched to Halloween in the park.

I think Walt Disney would be spinning in his grave over this. He wanted his parks to be places families could afford and enjoy.
But now it seems that it’s only being catered to the ultra rich and turned into exclusive only with fast cut lines and expensive private events leaving those who dream of going unable to unless you take a loan out and put a lein on your car or a second mortgage on your home.
The happiest place on earth sadly has fallen into the realm of greedy corporates like universal and six flags.

Lots of people can afford it whomare not rich. Its about budgeting. Walt would not have an issue. In fact I the 80s Disney parks were hurting and on the verge of a takeover.

You are not wrong. The Mouse House has gotten unaffordable to the average person. The prices for this event is unconscionable. Back in my late teens I worked there and it was an amazing place, however, now they are all about the money and dear lord they have changed in so many other ways, not in good ways either. Such a shame, as it was always the greatest place on earth growing up.

Im not rich by any means and go 2 times a year if not more. It’s about budgeting and spending money wisely. Hell, if you shop around, the all star resorts are less expensive than the motel 8 down there street! We take our own food and snacks so we spend less in the park but still budget to eat special foods in the park.

As for six flags being expensive? Have you seen their season passes? Through September it’s $55 and you can go to every six flags property until the end of 2026. That’s not expensive either! Issue with six flags is they are trashy with trashy guests. People get killed there, in their parking lots

Long story short, Disney is light years ahead of other parks and it’s expensive for them to stay that way.. they must find a good balance to stay open and stay affordable and I think they have done that. They are safe! Affordable to those who budget, anyone who budgets.

      My thoughts exactly

Walt Disney was as money hungry and greedy as everyone else. I’m sure he wouldn’t be rolling in his grave. If you can’t go, don’t.

  3. I wish and hope that all Disney Parks would be like classic and early 90’s style

Disney Parks are way over priced. Last time I went was 1982 and tickets were $15. I’ll never go again

  5. Jim

Everything has gone up in price. Stop comparing today to 50 years ago. Walt would love what’s happening today. Today’s prices are relative to those back in the 1950’s. Stop bitchin.

Exactly. Everyone has to complain about everything.

Dumbest place on earth. I wouldn’t go if it was $1.

…yet your dumbass is here commenting on a Disney site…bet you don’t even have a $1 haha. Get a job.

With price hikes, paid Genie+ for lightening lane passes in lieu of free fast passes, if you are extra rich you buy the high priced Lightening Lane Premier Pass costing OVER $400 per day per person that sells out often!
When considering the cost of food in the parks be prepared for $5 soft drinks and bottled water for a few cents less. Food quality is on par with school lunch programs cooked in mass sitting in a warmer ready to be purchased. Buffet breakfast costs from $52-$58 for adults and $33-$37 for children. Dinners are higher up to $69 per person. A child can barely eat $5 worth of breakfast food!
We now stay off property, 10 minutes away, in a Deluxe Villa with full kitchen paying 3/4th the price of a Disney Value Resort, some time during the year even less than a VR.
Hopefully my rant will open the eyes of folks considering a Disney vacay. Yes you can go and not pay the rediculous mouse prices.
One thing to consider is purchasing an annual pass for just one person in your party. That allows free parking, saving $35-$50 per day, with food and merch discounts and good for repeat trips.

I am far from rich and I have no problem going. You can make payments if you need to. You just have to want to go. If you can’t afford or don’t want to go, that’s a ‘you’ problem. Don’t go. 🤷

I’d rather avoid the crowds, save my money, and watch Ron on the Go on YouTube. Thanks, Ron!

What would never have hired the people that are now managing the park, or if he did he did, he would not have kept them very long. They’re making a mess out of the place with her destruction of Walt’s incredible work. They’re literally trashing Tom Sawyer Island just as they did Splash Mountain just because it doesn’t fit with their work agenda. They do not care that those things are dearly loved by millions, even though Splash Mountain made them lots of money. These are warped people. Disney needs to be rescued and made great again!

  10. Mike

Like they dont sell out !catering to any person or celebrity is pure well you all know answer😄

  11. Rick

Who really cares. Someone with deep pockets bought the park for an event. It happens with conventions all the time. The media needs to find better subject to report on.
