That’s a lot of closures! I would be very disappointed if those were all closed when I visited.

On my Disney World trip last year Test Track was closed and Cosmic Rewind broke down. It was disappointing but not too bad. I still had a great time.

In my late 50’s now . I don’t remember when Disneyland closes so many rides all at once! With the 70th anniversary you would think most everything in the park would be completed before hand ? You know when big dates are coming, plan ahead !! They sure know when to raise their prices!!!! Don’t get me wrong “I love Disneyland! ” Keep the MAGIC of Disney .

It’s very disappointing to read of so many closures, especially when it’s supposed to be the 70yr celebration. I surely hope they have the majority of these attractions back up and running by the holidays, especially because its going to be my grandchildrens first time visiting. And with the exorbitant price we have paid I really want them to experience everything.

Mansion is closed for the holiday overlay installation. Small World will close in October for its holiday overlay. They have been working non-stop on refurbs for quite some time. However, they don’t have any maintenance days like they used to when they were closed 2 days a week. That means they have to close rides and work when guests aren’t in the park.

It doesn’t matter what Disney’s problems are. There prices go up like a skyrocket, their access to things like fast pass etc. continue to disappear and after you pay HUGE prices half their rides are down? What happened to routine maintenance? If Walt was alive you would ‘t be experiencing these issues! I stopped going to Disney when they went woke. We were going to go this year because I proposed to my wife in Cinderella’s castle in Disney World. Now our plans are changed. Hello Universal!!

  6. All of the refurbishment should have been completed prior to the 70th or held off until the 70th Celebrations were completed! I understand the need for refurbishment but, I also understand the need for “proper” maintenance scheduling! Which, based upon the requirement of Corporate, you cut here, you cut there, as long as it’s within safety guidelines (?) it’s ok. So what if things “break” down or malfunction, the consumer doesn’t matter ….. the only thing that matters is the Shareholder. Their return that they get which means maximizing profit which, Disney has done very aggressively over the last couple decades. The only proof that I have towards this is the skyrocketing ticket prices, the cost of thing’s that were already included in the ticket price but now you have to pay for if you want an accelerated experience (fast pass). The cost of the Resorts is basically obnoxious. Yes, I do understand the “supply and demand” behind the increases but, there needs to be some type of regulatory system ……. oh wait, there is but, the consumer is not willing to “revolt” so to speak. They are only willing to whine and grumble and succumb to the Corporate greed that Disney has displayed. Yes, I am still a Disney fan but I no longer go to Dusney Parks like I used to ….. to expensive. By the way, my first visit to Disneyland was shortly after it opened in 1955, at the ripe old age of 5 weeks. So, these milestone Anniversaries of Disney’s also mean something to me too.

Super disappointing. It shows that it’s really not a celebration that they care about, it’s just a money grab. Don’t get me wrong, we’re still going, but we looked ahead to see what would be closed for refurbishment during our visit when we made the plans and now it’s all changed.

I haven’t been able to go to Disneyland in years due to rising costs and some health issues. I have a trip planned for October and it might very well be my last. I have a special needs daughter who’s been waiting to ride Big Thunder Railroad. I’m so annoyed by Disney’s actions. Walt was all about family. He would be sad to see the unGodly prices being charged now. Kids with families who live paycheck to paycheck don’t get to experience the magic of Disneyland. That’s a lot of people missing out, but then, is there really much magic left at Disneyland? I haven’t thought so for a very long time. All the taking out of some really fun things to replace them with newer things isn’t magical. So much has changed at Disneyland. The price of food and replacing the fast pass so they can charge an extra $32 per person lightening pass. All they see is dollar signs. If they want to see a profit, stop building things and spending more and more money and STOP raising prices. I’m so disappointed!
