I love the Magic Bands ,I don’t have a IPhone so the Magic Bands are better for those that don’t want to drag out there phones all the time. I don’t buy lighting lanes. I will wait for a ride. I will not pay extra for a ride when I already payed a lot of money to get into Disney in the first place.
I love my Magic Band. If I should step out of my room I need not worry about being locked out if I don’t grab my phone. If for no other reason this alone is why I still use one.
I would love to be able to put the phone away and just relax and enjoy the day at Disney. People walking around staring at it is annoying. Bad enough they are relied on for everything else in life, give us a day without. The magic bands work great and you can enjoy the visit instead of staring at a box all day.
I love the fun magical experience of using the magic band. I like putting my phone away while in the parks. I only pull it out to take pictures or check wait times occasionally. I will be sad when they stop the use of them 😔
I LOVE THE MAGIC BANDS. When I go to the pool at a Disney resort I do not always bring my phone. You can go swimming with the Magic band and do everything you need to at the pool and at the park. Also I sometimes go to the parks with friends that DO NOT HAVE SMART PHONES. My sister-in-law only has a land line NO SMARTPHONE, INTERNET or E-Mail (she is in 80 years of age, and does not want to learn that technology at her age), but she is still active and loves to travel. What would she do if no Magic band and she came to Disney with me?
I am all in for new innovative ways but having to use my phone for one more thing while in Disney is definitely not an improvement. Magic Bands are so convenient to wear and stops the constant holding or retrieving of phones. Also battery life will be a major issue if you stay in the parks all day. I hope Disney rethinks this one.
I agree with everyone, some people can’t afford to have an I phone, what do they do?
Ridiculous to do away with the magic bands, just let those who want to use their phone use it & when battery dies I’d like to know what Disney plans to do to let people in & ride .
Like everyone else, I like the convenience and security of the Magic Band. If Disney is truly going to phase them out, it is time for them to realize that there is another world known as Android.
I am not happy about this at all. I use my Disney time as phone free. I do not want to have to take out my phone over and over again. I do not want my kids to need a smart phone. Now I also have to worry about them dropping and breaking phones. This is a bad idea and I will continue to use my magic band.
I agree with pretty much what everyone else has said — the magic bands made everything EASY – I didnt need my wallet, my phone, anything and I could do anything I needed to on property, in the resort or the parks. I hate phones anymore as well, they can be useful tools, however it’s already bad enough people meandering along in the parks just like everywhere else with the little idiot box right in front of their faces.. I’m here to enjoy my time on vacation, not play the equivalent of video games trying to control every second of my day. Phone batteries die, they get lost / stolen, or people just don’t have them. Why force a change again if what you have is working, leave it alone and play with their toys if you must.
I agree with everyone! Keep the bands! With all the stealing going on in the parks and other places, how are you going to prevent your phone from being stolen when you are at the pool or waterparks? You WILL have to have them because you can no longer use a Magic Band! THINK DISNEY!! It’s a vacation—most of us don’t want our phones glued to our hands!
I have a lanyard that I will put my ticket in so I don’t have to pull my phone out for everything. I liked the magic bands but wasn’t about to pay extra for them.
I have an annual pass and go to a park about once every week or two. I have a lanyard and my magic token in a Mickey holder. I use it to scan for entry, lightning lanes, and photo passes. If I banged my Apple Watch on those scanners all day long, I fear I would damage it. My phone and Apple Watch always run out of battery by the end of the day so using them more often is not a good idea. Hopefully, the Magic Band option will remain for a long time.
If Disney makes everyone use their phone at those line check points, it can easily add another half hour to the wait time as guests struggle to get them out or properly position them.
I love magic bands and so do our kids!! I do not want them to go away!! They are fun, we love to collect them, it feels special to use them… your phone is common place… the bands are Disney Magic! The light up features are awesome too!
It continues to amaze me how Disney continues to ignore their base and the people that spend money in their parks. 20 comments on here ALL in favor of keeping MBs for their convenience of staying off of cell phones while on vacation. Do they ever do control group studies? We can’t be the only 20. Do better Disney.

Yet another bonehead move by Disney World. I don’t think they will ever learn.
