With this year’s D23 Expo winding down, Disney still had some tricks up its sleeves for fans on Sunday afternoon. This year’s fan event wasn’t nearly as dramatic as last year’s announcements, which included Cars Land, Villains Land, Monsters, Inc. Land, and Tropical Americas Land, but this year’s event still had some sizzle.

Disney announced updates to Villains Land and a refurbishment of the Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom, including the addition of a Walt Disney Animatronic. Disney also previewed Toy Story 5 (2026) and introduced Walt Disney Animation’s newest film, Hexed.
However, Sunday afternoon belonged to Disney’s castles, and the major announcement coming out of that panel was the opening date for the World of Frozen at Disneyland Paris. While Disney did not give a specific date, it said the new land would open in the Spring of 2026.

The new land will include a recreation of the Kingdom of Arendelle from the Frozen film series. The land will have a new boat ride, similar to Frozen Ever After in EPCOT, Elsa’s Ice Castle, and the Village of Arendelle.
The opening of the World of Frozen is part of Disneyland Paris’s major expansion, which will see the former Walt Disney Studios Park nearly double in size. Disneyland Paris is transforming the former Walt Disney Studios Park into Disney Adventure World, which is where the new Frozen land will be located.
Earlier this month, Disney released concept art for the new Lion King-themed land that will be part of the latest Disney Adventure World. Disney Adventure World will also include a new attraction based on Pixar’s Up. Disney did not release further details on the Lion King Land or the Up attraction.
So, if you happen to be heading across the pond this spring, you may want to consider building a snowman at Disneyland Paris as the new, immersive Frozen Land will be coming soon.
