When visiting “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” you probably think of a perfect vacation filled with exciting rides, attractions, and experiences. That is what you get most of the time, but sometimes, things can go wrong or take an unexpected turn. Entire buildings can be evacuated, and guests can be forced to hop off rides.

The Walt Disney World Resort is filled with fun rides, but due to their complexity, they can and do break down occasionally or even close for refurbishment.

Sometimes, however, rides can stop for entirely different reasons.

One guest’s unique experience went viral on social media years ago after their service dog caused problems for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

The guest claimed that their service dog caused a safety issue, forcing the ride to stop. Apparently, cast members mistook the dog for a child and thought it was jumping out of the ride vehicle.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is unique for a number of reasons, though it’s the ride’s trackless system that continues to impress all these years later.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway officially opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 4, 2020, just days before the country and the rest of the world would go into lockdown due to COVID-19.

A second version of the attraction opened at Disneyland in 2023. While the actual ride experience is the exact same, some West Coast fans swear Disneyland’s version of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is actually better than Disney World’s.

Either way, the attraction is a great time and often ranks as one of the highest-rated rides at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
