One Disney park is about to embark upon a total transformation.
When Walt Disney opened Disneyland Park in 1955, he vowed that it would never be complete as long as there was imagination left in the world. This vow has proven true in the subsequent years, with the park continually evolving to meet the expectations of new generations.

From the introduction of New Orleans Square in 1966 to the launch of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2019, Disneyland has embraced innovation while honoring tradition. The most significant expansion came in 2001 with the debut of Disney California Adventure, transforming the resort into a two-park destination and broadening its appeal for visitors.
The same is true for its other parks. As Disney continues to invest $60 billion into its theme parks and experiences worldwide, Walt Disney World Resort is undergoing transformative updates.

In the next few years, the resort will debut a brand-new take on Cars Land and a Disney Villains area at Magic Kingdom, a Tropical Americas area at Animal Kingdom with Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions, and a Monsters, Inc. land and revamped Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets.
Further afield, Shanghai Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland are all in the midst of their own major updates. As it’s owned by The Oriental Land Company, the Tokyo Disney Resort doesn’t fall under Disney’s major investment plans. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty in store for the Japanese theme park resort.
Tokyo Disney Resort Plans Big Update
Fresh off opening Fantasy Springs – a fairytale-esque area inspired by Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan – in Tokyo DisneySea, Tokyo Disney Resort is currently pushing ahead with a brand-new version of Space Mountain, plus a new Wreck-It Ralph ride, at Tokyo Disneyland.

Tokyo Disney Resort has now confirmed another big update for next year.
As Tokyo DisneySea prepares to mark its 25th anniversary, it’ll host its Sparkling Jubilee celebration from April 15, 2026, to March 31, 2027.
The park – which is often hailed as the best Disney park in the world, and is also its only ocean-themed park – has apparently opted for the theme as the shade “jubilee blue” evokes the beauty of the ocean. The park will be transformed with ornate decorations and immersive environmental effects, including dazzling light displays, creating an atmosphere that captures the spirit of a year-long festival.
