It is shocking to see it empty. I really had hoped that they would have changed their plans and built Cars Land in HS or remove that awful circus area in MK and build it there. LOL.
No Cars Land is coming to MK or ever will. In less than a decade all Pixar attractions and characters will be gone from the Disney parks worldwide due to the company having been trust busted. Disney will be losing all its acquisitions and Teddy Roosevelt will be applauding in his grave.
You don’t laugh at military men, civvie. Everything I say is true and a prophecy. I have a Time Machine and was there for the 75th in 2046. The Rivers are still there. There is no Cars coming and Pixar is leaving the parks. My folks in Congress are leading the motion to break up Disney.
This is terrible. So many happy memories from so many childhoods are being ERASED. Disney doesn’t care at all about its lifelong fans. Just $$$$. The new breed of C-suite “leaders” here are typical Billionaire AHs. Soulless *&* heartless. I will spend my $$ ELSEWHERE.
Walt Disney is turning in his grave!! How upsetting!! This would not be what he would want. Those making these plans are not considering what Walt Disney was creating and are not caring about the man’s vision. Walt Disney world wouldn’t even be there if it wasn’t for Mr Walt Disney. There is no way that he would be sabotaging that area and all of the changes in different things that are occurring with Disney or just not like him they’re not his vision. I grew up as a Disney child and there was a time when I love Disney very much. But is being destroyed. If you wanted Pixar the cars you should have done it a different way not destroy something beautiful.
Change is bad. The idea of the parks changing also died with Walt and that philosophy is going out the window when I take over Disney. Like fans and the press will cry that Walt is rolling in his grave that the parks under me are stagnant and stuck in the 20th century?
Agreed. My thought was take autopia and the whole circus area if you need more land to do it. Haunted mansion will be very out of place now. And the rivers are a part of the park that makes it beautiful
Omg people. Times change. Throw away your fancy gadgets and live in the past. People probably said the same thing when the car was invented. Look at us now.
The answer is NO, I AM NOT EXCITED FOR PISTON PEAK! My favorite part of the MK is nothing now. It seems all of our beloved rides are being torn away from us one by one. I predict that someday there will be no more MK classic rides as they are all being swallowed up by these brainless empty suits with fancy titles. I hope Universal swallows them whole!
Its a saaaaad day. Tom Sawyer Island was always a welcome break from the crowds and bustle of the rest of the park. Now it’s gone – and for what? An IP that is about as relevant to today’s kids as Pete’s Dragon was to my son in the 2000s.
Disney suits are completely ignoring the 250th anniversary of the USA. They could have celebrated it without having to do too much to what they already had. A wasted opportunity. Typical out of tough Disney “woke” sleeping suits.
No More Disney, it’s what ever greed will get cha. Old Disney is gone, My memories have gone with it. Let it be Known, Disney execs just don’t give a DAMN what REAL Disneys fans want, just crybabies-r-us want…
No it’s not gone. None of these changes are real or happening. I was at the 75th in 2046 and can confirm that “old Disney” is alive and well with all Iger era traces gone and management who caters to purists in charge.
It’s absolutely true. No Cars is coming and Disney has no right to remove the Rivers of America. It’s landmarked. I was at the 75th and will also be taking over Disney myself. It will be great again under my leadership. People will be enjoying a WDW stuck in the 20th century.
I’m grateful to Walt Disney for giving me the fantasy that was DisneyWorld. It will forever remain in my memory until the day I die.
I won’t ever go back. I wouldn’t want to corrupt my memories.
I get it, you’re all being nostalgic and creating a narrative for the motive. It have any if you been in that section of the park lately? You’re one of the few if so.
I’ve been going with my family for 25 years. This past trip we consciously did things we had never done before. And went on Tom Sawyer island. It’s not convenient to get to. There’s not really anything there. Today’s generation doesn’t know the story. It’s just a place for parents to let their kids burn off some steam.
Liberty Belle doesn’t have the ability to serve larger crowds. It’s an infrequent ride. There’s really nothing to see.
This is just progress, folks. That area needed improvement. There is no “conspiracy to remove patriotic theming”.
How much is Disney hate America paying you to say this puke. No one is buying it. They want to erase an era. They have no patriotism. This sucks just like woke mountain for Splash. NO one and I mean no one is saying hay lets go to Disney and ride what ever woke mountain is called. They all use to say I cant wait to ride Splash Mountain. Disney is run by DEI who does not have a clue what Disney really is and makes people feel.
Wow. Everything you said is wrong. The Rivers of America is not closed or ever closing. Disney has no right to remove it and there is no Cars coming to Magic Kingdom, ever. The Rivers are mandated in the parks per Walt himself. The Rivers are open right this second and so is the Liberty Belle. I have a Time Machine and was there for the 75th in 2046 and can confirm. They absolutely do draw guests and who cares if they don’t? Kids also don’t need to know who Tom Sawyer is to enjoy the island. Every American generation knows Tom Sawyer. Pixar will be gone from the parks soon due to Disney being broken up and losing its acquisitions. There is no place for progress in WDW and when I take over Disney I will make it great again by keeping the parks locked in the 20th century never changing while embracing stagnation and regression by bringing back old rides and not building anything new, satisfying the purists.
As a person who has gone to Disney every year, 4 times a year, my Disney days and memories have come to an end. It will never be the same. Disney has plenty of land to build what ever they want. Leave the real WDW alone. Cars is so yesterday. The new rides , Ratatoulie, Toy Story, etc. are so cheap and ridiculous, it’s just not worth my going anymore. What a sad day.
Disney has made a huge mistake! Walt is rolling over in his grave. I don’t like what WDW is becoming. We were huge fans. AP holders, DVC owners, stock holders. We even had a brick at the entrance to MK which is gone now. We won’t be back. We’re done with Disney.
Our comments don’t matter, nor did they ever!!
No one in the final say so corporate financial office and the visionary leaders listened to the “Guests” who actually put the money in these people’s pockets!!
It’s our money (past and present) that’s kept the parks going!!
Disney has enough money, they could have done some magical changes around the areas on the monorail ride between Epcot and MK by blending somehow Piston Peak with the future and making it a whole new experience and using the train as a pick up and drop off stop, that way guests can see more and have a nice train ride if they didn’t want to walk.
It’s too late now, someone hit the gavel and said they didn’t care about the guest’s experiences of the original Disney. REALLY SAD!!!!
Monsters new area and ride looks worth the changes, except the Muppets Theater and Ricco’s pizza will be missed, but maybe these corporate money people will do something magical with them for the paying guests.
Sad that Tom Sawyer’s Island and the Liberty Belle were classified in the extinction level as Dinoland, but, the New Tropics area and Indiana Jones exhibit is going to be a thumbs up for me!!
I just hope they move the Liberty Belle to the river area near one of the Resorts and turn it into a “Free Donation Box” Disney History Museum with Steamboat Mickey as the Captain at the wheel, to keep the ship afloat.
That would be cute and worth it for all ages!
You realize none of this is happening and the Liberty Belle is operating right this second? No Cars is coming and nothing was ever announced. Disney is losing Pixar and Star Wars soon due to the company being broken up.
For those that feel Tom Sawyer island is sacred, the original is still there in Anaheim. Florida’s was just a reproduction. Now the 20000 Leagues under the sea, long gone, was not the same as the submarine voyage in DL. At least is was a different, Verne refresh of the California version. We have lost so much of the original ’71 version of WDW, this is just another change. If you folks are upset at this loss, at least the Park is open and as busy as ever. Think of how much has come and gone since 1971. Entire parks like Six Gun Territory, Pirate World, Cypress Gardens, Circus World, Boardwalk & Baseball, Floridaland, Tiki Gardens, Fairy Land and on and on. And I’m sure that at the turn of last century, there were people thinking that their Palisades parks, Coney Islands, and other Pleasure Parks Would be there for their grand children’s grandchildren. Time and the world marches on.
Wrong. Tom Sawyer Island is not closed in Florida and Disney doesn’t have the right to close it. No Cars is coming and it’s all fake. It was never announced. I was there for the 75th and it’s still there and 20,000 Leagues is back. I’ve got a Time Machine just like Doc Brown and Marty McFly. Time also does not march on. Time is over and history is over. When I take over Disney and make it great again the parks will be locked in the 20th century never changing and “What would Walt do?” will be the guiding mantra again like it was for decades after his passing. The parks will be treated as private clubs for members only where only purists and Disney history scholars are welcome. Kids will have the same tastes as their parents and grandparents.

For most of us Floridians, Disney is finished. We’re certainly not going to buy AP’s to visit a construction zone.
Let alone these horrible changes.
