If the music loop of western and Cowboy trail songs changes….. I’m never going back. That loop especially the instrumental trail songs — Home on the Range, Cowby’s Dream, Ghost Riders in the Sky — great remnant of open range cowboy days. Especially in a world where Cowboy today means “rodeo” for bloody performance and spectacle, in a world where those trail songs are largely forgotten!!! They better not change or remove that loop!!!!!!! There was blood on the Saddle and blood all around and a great big puddle of blood on the ground that song ain’t a lament it’s a warning!!!! A warning!!! Listen to full song you’ll hear what I mean!!!!
This is not a surprise. When Disney opened Westerns were all the rage. Most people are not into westerns so it makes sense to change. I am only surprised that they do everything get rid of the country bear jamboree. That is an existing theater they could change into something people would want to see. We do almost everything at the Magic Kingdom but we skip the country bears. (Went once recently and couldn’t wait for it to be over)
Frontierland is never going away and there is no Cars coming. Westerns are popular and guests will be given cowboys and American heroes forever at WDW. I will expand and double down on the Western theming when I take over Disney. That means more Davy Crockett and Pecos Bill along with Annie Oakley.
Well you’re one of the minority. And with Disney, they’ve cater to the minority. Never mind the masses care and are pissed off at all the changes. Star Wars ruined everything already…
Another example of Disney catering to, or being run by a certain agenda. We used to go every year for over 20 years, loved it. Haven’t been since 2021. With all the changes, mostly due to greed, and the loss of the magic that made the cost worth it, I’m not sure if we’ll ever go back. They need to take a hard look at their recent performance across the whole company.
You know to be honest I am all about innovation and change and forever evolving the lands like Disney wanted. But I do think they’re going a little overboard with changing frontierland all together cuz that land’s been there the longest if you look at it that was one of the original lands that was produced at Disneyland and brought over to Disney world and has gone unchanged. Me and my wife welcomed Tatiana’s value adventure but there is still a sore spot in our hearts cuz we do miss the briar patch. That zippity Doo dah was a big part of our lives and it was very hard to see it go. I think with all the expansions they should have just gave Tatiana her own little spot and not take away from heritage and tradition. Last time I checked there’s no 50 ft plunge in the bayou LOL. But to get back on subject with frontierland it is a big part of everybody’s life and a big part of Disney to see Tom Sawyer Island go and the riverboat I don’t know if I or my wife can take that kind of punishment LOL. But we do welcome new attractions each year being pass holders for the past 15 years together we’ve enjoyed a lot of new and old rides at all Disney theme parks. If you demolish frontierland you going to have to take Big thunder because it ain’t going to fit anywhere else and I don’t see them in the near future getting rid of Big thunder seeing because they just did a one-year Plus complete overhaul. I think there needs to be a compromise and maybe just save all the surprises for a new land on new land beyond thunder mountain. I think Disney could have saved a few bucks kept the river boat maybe revamped Tom Sawyer and just spent a few extra bucks expanding the land past frontierland and just left it the f*** alone. Expand the footprint of Disney world instead of just changing the existing and thinking it’s okay. I remember when I was knee-high to a grasshopper and all I wanted to do is go on splash mountain Big thunder Tom Sawyer the river boat and then in the afternoon with seeing The country bears play for over 20 minutes. Now we have Tatiana’s by you which is nowhere near the same as my zippity Doo dah and thunder mountain is the only OG in the area because you’re taking away Tom Sawyer the riverboat changing the restaurants and shortening or probably getting rid of The country bears all together even more that would tear my heart into. To the CEO of Disney please for the love of God and all that is holy Make compromises. Trust me Disney has a large enough following if you give the people what they want more people will follow you have competition you need to stay ahead of it be smart about the changes and stick with tradition if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Once again just another example of how much Bob Iger and the Board of Directors do not care about the park, the man or the legacy. Disney is no longer a theme park. It is no longer the elite standard of the family destination resort. It is just another playground for the elite and rich. For the 1% who want to crush the necks of the very people that the lark was meant for. With no true theme, no setting tying things in, no story, it’s just a park with rides. And sadly not good ones. They are rides that satisfy the “woke” agenda because the rides offended people. Yet the very people that complained have probably never stepped foot in the parks. But it’s OK, there are new bars that Disney is POSITIVE won’t result in drunken aggressive park guests causing any type of disturbance in the park whatsoever. Remember that when someone punches someone else’s father right in front of their kids because the drunk guy wants to push past the other family to get a better view of the parade. Iger is a greedy scumbag and should never been allowed back. Sadly the biggest issue is that there is not a single member of the Disney family on the board whatsoever and that’s exactly what Iger and his Board of destruction wanted
I agree with most of these sentiments about the changes being made. The Magic Kingdom was the most popular park in the world for a reason. They thought they could do better?? This group of imagineers are a train wreck. I’m pretty much done with Disney at this point. We may stay offsite and visit some of the resort restaurants, but the parks are no longer a draw for my family.
Just here to read the boomers complaining no one wants racoon skin hats any or interested in Davy Crockett lol. Or playing in boring empty forts. The world has moved on! Now hopefully they get rid of that horrid Pecos Bill or Horseshoe and we can have Tiana’s place. Also because that’s what the new generations know! Cars Land is amazing in CA. So much space and potential in WDW.
Wrong. Kids do want Davy Crockett and American folk heroes. The world has not moved on and in fact the world has stopped and will be going in reverse. No Tiana’s Place is ever coming and I look forward to the return of the Diamond Horseshoe. There is also no Tiana ride and Splash Mountain is open this very minute at WDW. I was at the 75th in 2046 and it’s all true. No Cars is coming and the Rivers will still be there for the 75th. Pixar will be leaving the parks because of Disney being broken up like Standard Oil and Ma Bell were. Disney will go back to the 20th century when I take over. I will cater to purists only and kids will have the same tastes as their parents.
That’s cool. But I’m also for original attractions and lands too, not just what is popular with everyone. You can have a great modern and immersive Frontierland without having to put in cartoon cars. The problem is people can’t think outside the box or beyond what IP they can use.
They did revamp county bears, not ditch it. Piston peak takes place, more or less in the West, the Rockies, not frontier times, but wild(ish) mostly underdeveloped country. Big Thunder ain’t moving.
Do I wish they had put Piston Peak outside the rail line and kept the Rivers and Tom? Yes. But I’m surprised at how much of the old Frontierland is left.
so drop adventure land, drop the RR, drop the castle as it reps a time no minority can relate to besides it does indicate racism. Then we can drop all of main street turn it into a giant gift shop, oh wait they did that already. Try to remember, disney through TV offerings sold US all these ideas and lands, now the “new kids in town” aim to take that away, Who’s money is spent the most at the parks, young people or US BOOMERS with their kids and grandkids??? Ohhh didn’t think about that huh??? Guess your polls are way off, AGAIN/
My kids use to love Disney …but they say it has a very antiwhite pro homosexual feeling now…the people that work there are very strange over the past 10 years or so almost entitled acting like there doing us a favor, alot speak broken English and very rude and not helpful as well…not very magical…
We’ll aren’t and your “kids” pathetic, walking, white bread, mayonnaise sandwiches!?! Bet you say the “n” word first thing every morning just to feel empowered!
What kills me about all this is that Piston Peak could have been built without losing the River. It could simply have been moved to a new site- ACROSS THE RAILROAD; that is, OUTSIDE THE BERM. As for the Imagineers responsible for this whole mishigas, they obviously have no respect for our country’s history, nor for the philosophies of their company’s Founder. They have no future at WDI. If it was up to me, therefore, I’d just pack them off to Universal.
Cars and Princess Tiana are both still American. I’m not much on change but one thing Walt promised is that we would never stop seeing change in his parks. Always something new to see and do. That’s all part of the magic. As the world moves on so too do it’s interests. It’s a money making business after all.
Walt is dead and the idea of the parks changing died with him. You forget he said the parks would change unless there isn’t any imagination left and the world ran out of imagination in the 1990s. It’s over. When I take over Disney that philosophy is going away and the parks will go backwards and stop changing. That means no more new rides and instead old things will be coming back like Horizons, World of Motion, Mr. Toad, Snow White’s Scary Adventures, and Alien Encounter. I will give the purists what they want.
We’ll aren’t and your “kids” pathetic, walking, white bread, mayonnaise sandwiches!?! Bet you say the “n” word first thing every morning just to feel empowered!
Poor Decision. With all the land Disney has new attractions could have enhanced the experience. Perhaps thinned wait lines in general. Replacing what we have grown to love. Is going to cost them dearly. I guess I have seen enough!
If Walt or Roy were alive either one of them would kick their butts and then fire them all. How dare they ruined the dreams of Walt with their incompetent and childish finger painting on the canvas of Disney World.
I agree with tje commenters that say a “Cars” land should have been an entire new area, especially with Universal expanding. A new land, combined with keeping the attendance limit flat, would lessen crowding and wait times, improving guest experience! (What a novel concept :/ )
That being said, I understand the company wanting to add newer characters, etc, and Magic Kingdom should be the one park completely geared towards families with children. Just find a way to politely say “this area is outdated and needs a refresh.” There can be a tribute to Davy Crockett, et al, at Hollywood studios or even at one of the hotels or something. But please SPARE US THE PSYCHO-BABBLE about ” finding your own folk tale” or whatever. That sounds like something someone with a useless PhD came up with.
It’s unfortunate that the imagineers have overlooked the history and meaning Walt Disney intended. There is a way to grow into the future without eliminating the past… And if they were true imagineers they could have, would have known that.
Spent my Christmas at WDW. What a disappointment in removing Frontierland and leveling Tom Sawyer Island and Dry docking the Liberty Bell paddle wheel. Could of just made it relevant to the 21st Century.
It’s not even going to be real Cars. Just the Temu version. Building a ride that mimics an experience you can actually do for thousands less just down the road seems like a winning strategy. Can’t wait for Villains Land though.
It breaks my heart that when I go to Disney later this year, the Riverboat will be gone and Tom Sawyer Island and the railroad wont be going through the woods and I won’t hear Colours of the Wind. Not everyone can go on wild rides. It was such a calm, soothing place to be. My mother( is in a wheelchair) and I would have lunch at Pesco Bill’s, go on the Riverboat and then stroll around the island, going to the fort and it was like being in a John Ford movie. You could sit quietly and wave to the trains zooming by on Great thunder mountain. But its all gone now: the guy with his little cabin, the native village, the drunken pirate cove. It breaks my heart. It was bad enough Splash mountain was changed but all those beautiful trees taken out? Why could they have not just added it to the side, expanded the park? No more steam whistle from Liberty Belle!!! I hate them for taking away such a beautiful part of the park. I still am fuming over the loss of the Great Movie Ride.
Disney is not the magical it waa when we first visited in 1971 and forward..The new electric parade was hit last night with family..
But all changes great for future maybe..but do not believe Walt wanted the big bucs..He wanted people to enjoy and not have to spend thousands of money to enjoy the fun!
When we first visited..the bushes and trees were so well manicured in characters and shapes..each restaurant was fun .the kids loved the Mickey butters..each restaurant was class of their own..characters dining was treat and fun..now its hurry up and it because they need the table..food isn’t as good or as attractive for kids! We are on the fourth generation visiting ..But its not the magical theme it was..like Mickey waving goodbye when left magic kingdom at 11 at night..we were there last night and left at 1130..we all commented on that after seeing over the exits “See ya real soon!”
Sometimes before all the changes you should send out surveys to all the annual passholders and tell them what you are proposing and ask opinions or thoughts or comments..

It’s unfortunate Disney has chosen a different route. The dreams of Walt no longer exist. Wiping out Frontierland is erasing American history. It follows the tearing out statues and rewriting history books. They’ve lost their way. They’ve killed the culture of what was meant to be. Explain to me, when Disney owns 40 square miles to develop why they continue to choose the ripping out of the memories and the history for our future generations to replace it with something that will be outdated within 10 years. How did Star Wars work out. And Piston Peak is more for Hollywood Studios. What does any of this have to do with the pioneers and the founding of our great country? 40 miles to build more memories and dreams on. Have a magical day.
Disney World is broken forever. Loss of loved attractions. What idiot thought this was good?
Add another park of all attractions you destroyed and they will come.
Wow ! Just was ready to book a 7 day vacation for 3 Generations of our Family. BUT when I went on The Disney site and read the explanation of why they Destroyed the memories of my childhood I was so disappointed. I planned on telling my grandkids I was on this ride and that ride etc. when I was your age! Frontier Land was to me my love for the outdoors fishing, hunting, cooking outdoors. Having a lifelong appreciation for wildlife and just being with family and friends. I am fit to be tied. I will never spend a penny at any Disney park. This is a disgrace to America’s history.
