Visited SeaWorld Orlando 6.18.25. They need to train their employees better in customer service. Lacking at the stroller wheel chair rental with the 1 poor employee with a bandaged up calf who apologized for being slow due to just returning from a stay in the hospital. Preordered and paid for the stroller as on line stated no lines to wait in hahahahaha..Still waited 30 minutes to get the stroller. Employees at the ride cues were “clueless” when asked questions where things were at and if you were in the correct line for the ride(Penguin Trek) stood in line as the employee stated this was the line HOWEVER it was not the LINE for the Trek but only to walk through to see the penguins. When questioned after walking through the SAME employee said this is the line and was insistent. It was another guest walking by who directed us around the corner. Soda machines not working reading the QR code. to dispense sodas, food not coming out fast enough for the people waiting and by the time you went through the line your food was cold. We actually had an employee who was a cashier at the BBQ place that was resting her chin on her hand while ringing guests up and barking orders to move up. Finally found a great employee who was knowledgeable enjoyed her job and said that more of the employees needed to spend a day in the park to familiarize themselves. She was by the rescue manatees and turtles. Such a sweet lady! She made our trip that much better.
Sea Workds decline is due to poor upper management, only being concerned about maximum profits! They could care less about guests, comfort or safety cleanliness of the parks is horrendous, look back at the good days when bush owned to parks SHAME ON YOU UPPER MANAGEMENT!!! Get your heads out of your ass and take a good look around you’d be amazed at what you would see unless you really don’t care which I doubt if you do as a former Sea World employee I’ve seen it all!!!!
On July 2nd (2025), I took my family to Sea World San Diego after purchasing an annual pass for my wife and I and using free passes for my two kids to enter the park. The main reason for my kids returning to Sea world San Diego was to ride the rides, mainly the “Artic Rescue”.
My kids and I were very disappointed that not only was Artic Resuce not operating the whole day, several other rides were either in maintenance or shut down without a reason. It was frustrating to see no signs explaining why the rides were down or when/if the rides will be back up and running. Animal shows were ok but they certainly have lost the thunder of the past.
We ended up cutting our day short and left the park just before lunch time. It just didn’t seem worth our time to stay at the park. Yes, there were things we could still do… arcade games, climbing structures, food/dessert places, and etc. We could have certainly enjoyed those in between rides and shows but we didn’t think those alone were worth our time.
What’s surprising is that the problem seems to have lingered on since. Artic rescue is still down (and still no official announcement on why and when it’ll return) and the SW app shows me that Electric Eel and 3 other rides were also down today.
I wanted to schedule another visit later this month but it seems like a lost cause at this point. I feel like I need to ask to have my season pass cancelled and money refunded.
Sure, rides can be unexpectedly shut down for safety issues, scheduled maintenance, and so on. It doesn’t make sense that the majority of them are down at the same time though. Lack of transparency on why rides are not operating or when they expect to have it back up and running would help. We don’t know when is also better than not saying anything.
I hope that Sea World SD will get over this hump and thrive again but I don’t think that will be happening. So sad…
