Great America was originally slated to close on 2033 anyway.

Sorry but the State of California is taking control of Great America. It cannot ever close and will never be closed.

What are you talking about? The state is not taking control of it.

Yes it is. Great America is going to be under state protection just as one day Disneyland and WDW will be under federal protection of the National Parks service.

Cedar Fair took on Six Flags debt when they merged. By doing so, they had to cut corners. I checked California’s Great America earnings and it’s been don’t great, until they started sinking it, by eliminating shows and events. A lot of what’s been done away with where family traditions for local families to go to. No one wants to go to creepy Vallejo in order to enjoy what they’ve had locally since 1976. My daughter gave 11 years to this park. She was an entrainment tech and she had an incredibly team. Seriously messed up what has gone down with this company.

Another example of why mega -mergers are not good for the public. How many department stores have closed as another example because they’re all branded Macy’s or Dillard’s? How many banks have closed? We have antitrust laws in our country politicians, both Democrats and Republicans choose to enforce. Bigger isn’t better.

It is just sad for Northern California/San Francisco Bay Area. One less option on Amusement Park to choose to go to for Bay Area locals. Wish there is some way to stop this for good. So, it does not happen at all. Even when the deal was so many years ago. The Amusement Park is more important than is planned to be there. What is planned to be there is not needed at all.
