I’m not a nostalgia sheeple so I didn’t give the DEI, girlbossed Lilo and Stitch remake the time of day. I’m sick of everything being remade and I’m even more sick of the brainless people who keep flocking to the theater to give Disney millions for each souless, left-wing remake. You want actual nostalgia? Go watch the cartoon.
2002: Family means nobody gets left behind
2025: The heck with family, you’re a strong independent career woman who doesn’t need to be glued to the little sister with the alien pet.
Guess I’m the only smart person who knows by now that each live action remake is in some way, shape or form is screwed up and I’m not going to fuel the fire for more of them. Disney adults are the dumbest form of life. You say you’re tired of remakes but you just keep watching them because “oh boo hoo it’s my childhood”. That’s about as pathetic as someone saying, “these brand of cookies taste like cardboard, I won’t buy these again” but rush right back to the store to buy more when a new flavor is announced.
When I first heard about the Lilo and Stitch remake I knew in advance that both Nani and Lilo were going to be girlbosses. I was right of course and was smart enough to avoid the theater.
In the cartoon, Stitch was the hero who saved Lilo from Gantu. In the remake, Gantu doesn’t exist and Lilo saved Stitch from Jumbaa and then Nani saves Stitch from drowning.
In the cartoon Nani has her funny moments and is more playful with Lilo. In the remake she’s a stuffy grouch.
In the cartoon, Nani is struggling for a job but will take what she could find in order to keep Lilo with her. In the remake she happily ditches her sister so she can go to college (in another state yet!) for a high and mighty career.
Now I know what some of you thinking: Lilo told Nani to go. Of course she did, heaven forbid a female display weakness by telling someone “don’t leave me. I need you in my life as my guide, my role model and emotional support”.
But now thanks to the nostalgia sheeple there’s going to be a sequel. I’m not going to watch it of course, I’ll leave it for you Disney adults so that there will be a third and fourth and a fifth….
after what has transpired from the live action snow white film incident. I believe it’s for the best that Disney Live action adaptations get buried as of Snow white

$417,116,676 total gross at the box office so far. Second only after Minecraft movie for 2025. Probably won’t stop making them. Just saying….
