Well – I for one will be lookin’ forward to both the openin’ of the bar and the next grand sailin’ of the Black Pearl. With any luck, Disney and Johnny Depp will settle their differences, and we’ll once again see ol’ Captain Jack Sparrow stagger back onto the screen where he belongs. But let’s not weigh anchor just for a quick coin, eh? What this tale needs is a story worth its salt—full of mischief, magic, and a bit o’ that heart-pounding chaos we remember from the start.

There be whispers that Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley might return, and if the winds favor us, perhaps even Geoffrey Rush as the one and only Captain Barbossa (and the little monkey?). And I sure wouldn’t mind seein’ Jack Davenport (Commodore Norrington himself!) or Brenton Thwaites (young Henry Turner) sail back into the fray—aye, if they’re willin’.

And let’s not forget the music, mates—the thunderin’ score that set our hearts racin’ from the first blast of cannon fire. Klaus Badelt’s original theme, carried on by Hans Zimmer, gave Pirates its soul. Any new voyage without that sound would be like a ship without wind.

If they get the tale right—and Jack back at the helm—this next film could be more than just another sequel. It could be the spark that brings the whole fleet back to life.

So hoist the colors, Disney. Let’s set sail proper.
