It’s because Disneyland kept ROA. That’s why.

Cost at Disneyland are less considering you can do most in 2 to 3 days, compare to WDW which is a 5 to 10 day stay. More walking at WDW. Construction keeps people from visiting too. Political issues may also be a reason to avoid Florida.

The projected 2024 attendance for WDW is close to 58 million, compared to DL’s 28 million. Even though WDW has thousands of acres available for expansion, Anaheim, which manages the budget, opts not to invest there. Instead, Anaheim is allocating $1.9 billion to landlocked DL to transform a parking lot into more park space, raising questions about ROI. Another advantage of building a new park at WDW is that it wouldn’t disrupt paying guests, as no existing areas would need to shut down during construction.

Disney should of never of built in Orlando. They should of built somewhere where there are no hurricanes or humid weather. Nevada or Arizona would of been nice. They definitely need to get more coverage for guests. When it gets hot in both anaheim and orlando there is not enough shade.

Well seeing as you keep saying, “should of” and not “should have” which is correct, invalidates your opinion. I can’t take someone seriously that doesn’t know the difference

And soon hopefully Tokyo will overtake Disneyland.

Seriously.. Arizona? You can barely go outside in the summer months with temps regularly well into the 100’s.

There’s not enough shade in all of AZ and NV combined 😉. I imagine Walt would have wanted Disneyland to be in CA since he had so much history there – it’s where Mickey Mouse was born!
What sets Disneyland apart is that’s it’s the park Walt (& team) personally imagined and built. There’s just *one* apartment window in the whole world keeping the lamp on specifically to let us feel Walt’s presence.
I suspect Walt would’ve loved that the world adores his original park and it’s continued evolution 70-years later.
As for more shade, perhaps Walt would’ve reminded park guests that there’s always air conditioning inside of the gift shops!

(Kindly ignore the apostrophe typos. Autocomplete did me dirty.)

Disneyland must not evolve and was finished in 1995 with Indiana Jones. When I take over Disney and make it great again the parks will stop changing and adding new things. I will also undo all traces of Paul Pressler and the exit through the gift shop model even if it means losing billions. Like people and the press will cry that Walt is rolling in his grave that the parks have stopped changing and evolving?

Just by your first sentence you’re automatically against Walt’s vision for Disneyland. Remember “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world”. You clearly have no imagination left as you prefer to remain in the past and never grow/evolve. Keep traditions alive, yes, but never be stagnant. Just goes to show your true colors (which is orange)

The idea of Disneyland never being complete died with Walt. Hate to break it to you but there is not one drop of imagination left in the world. When I take over Disney that philosophy is going away to be replaced with Make Disney Great Again and going backwards. Yes, Disneyland was finished in 1995 with Indiana Jones and the parks will be stuck in the 20th century and locked in time. Walt would support Trump as a conservative. Stagnation is good and there is no future. Disney can survive on its name alone and will under me. People will visit any park with a Disney name even if it’s stuck in the 20th century. P.T. Barnum was right about a certain type born every minute.

Has nothing to do with that. It has to do with Disney World nickel and diming people, treating resident annual pass holders like garbage, ticket prices skyrocketing and them getting rid of things like Splash Mountain, the riverboat and Tom Sawyers island, Muppet Land etc. Continue to not listen to the people, DW will continue to go down.

    5. DJ

Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of a park on the other side of the US? Seriously over the 50 year life of WDW how many days have the parks closed for weather, under 30 days. I guess it’s a good thing Walt didn’t consult with you for real estate advice.

Once the 70th celebration is over people will stop flocking to Disneyland and start going back to Walt Disney World…bank on it

    1. BestCoast

      The 70th celebration continues through 2026. ✨ 🏰🎉

  6. Guy

Canadians aren’t visiting DW like they were… the Trump factor is significant here. Let’s say THAT out loud.

    1. Mike

Careful. Guys like Steve wouldn’t want their “grand exalted” dictator-to-be to be (correctly) accused of anything that goes against their vision
