The sad truth is the the powers that be no longer care about loyalty and tradition. It is evident in their decision to alter major sections of parks, removing iconic attractions, to put in new ones when it wasn’t needed and new areas could easily be built in other areas.
It’s evident in it’s prices sending ticket, merch and food prices so high they are pricing out the average family that once enjoyed going to Disney every so many years.
It’s evident with removing perks like the bus shuttle they once had for guests staying on property that picked you up and dropped you off at the airports.
It’s evident in removing great events like the fabulous Christmas lights display they once had at Hollywood Studios and making late nights at the park only guests staying at a deluxe resort, when at one point it was for all guests of the resort hotels on certain nights
It’s evident in EPCOT where entire country venues now sit empty like Morocco, having only a VIP lounge for DVC members to escape the heat.
And it’s very, VERY evident in how they are treating annual pass holders. People pay good money to have the ability to go to the parks any day of the year all year. It gives them the ability to bring family and friends to the parks to maybe get them excited to spend their own money. It’s supposed to hold value in that they get perks for being such dedicated fans. And it gives Disney the ability to know they will have certain fans in thr park everyday, especially on days attendance might be down.
But Disney no longer cares about that. This is not thy Disney most of us grew up with. This is an agenda Disney not run by people that truly believed in thr magic it was meant to create, but by a board of directors that just want to get richer no matter what, even if it means erasing every single representation of Walt Disney in those parks. I bet many people are missing smoke Eisner now. For though he had issues, he at least showed a love for Disney and it’s guests.
Disney was about walking into a place where the real world faded and a land of make-believe, fairy tales and movie magic allowed everyone to escape their problems and real life for a few days. For kids to be kids and adults to be the kids they once were, without any reason to apologize for doing so.
It’s hard to forget the real world when a giant crane lurks over Thunder Mountain. Its hard to forget the real world when the Rivers of America are drained and a piece of Disneys beginnings and Americana are scraped to and destroyed by poor judgement because they couldn’t understand how much a threat Epic Universal really was. Cars Land and Villians land will continue to destroy they mystery because the lands are meant were meant to blend together with a certain transition that kept the magic from being interrupted. You will not see that transition ever again.
It’s also hard to forget the real world when all of s sudden those in charge felt a need to install bars in every corner of the magic Kingdom, EPCOT and the hotels. Walt NEVER wanted alcohol in the MK. Crystal Palace was. A big exception. Now, despite those in charge claiming there will only be a two drink max, guests and worse kids will get to witness daily, drunk and unruly guests. Nice
Plus every resort does NOT require a giant skyscraper DVC addition. The area around the monorail looks horrible now.
No. The magic is gone. The pass holders are blocked out of everything that they thought they were paying to get advantages of and the fairy tale is nothing more then Stuffed shirts on the Board looking to get richer and only cater the rich that can afford the overpriced fees on resorts, merch and food.
The dream of every kid in a middle and lower class family one day going to Disney is over. You can chose, and education a future. A house of your own. Or a very expensive lackluster park vacation. And I say park and no longer theme park because Disney has long ago done away with being a theme park. It’s just random rides plopped where ever they fit now with very little enjoyment because they have given in to woke culture so much on top of everything else. It’s one thing to be inclusive and diverse to all groups. It’s another to say you are but alienate and price out groups as well.
No I’m sorry. This is not Disney anymore. This is just a corporation running amusement park…… straight into the ground
