I understand to not putting the any smoking now in the kids films but if it was in there from old cartoons, just leave it alone. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Cancel culture is really getting bad. Plus, Disney has no problem teaching kids about gay sex but has a problem with smoking in an old cartoon. Very sad

the editing of older Disney movies/TV shows/cartoons seems definite overkill. I don’t agree with any of it. Putting warnings before movies like Peter Pan and others is also ridiculous – after all my whole family grew up watching movies like Peter Pan all thru to Pocahontas. Sensoring or editing songs isn’t right either. For that reason I will NOT watch the live remake of Little Mermaid….I will stick to the originals FOREVER. Also….and lastly….Splash Mountain: it shouldn’t have been closed/remodeled over a movie that none of the kids today even know about & I bet at least half the adults that ever went on it knew about. The ride was built around the cartoon characters from the film – not the live action part. The movie was a beloved attraction and it shouldn’t have been changed. They should have added a ride for The Princess & the frog (btw isn’t a favorite of mine) instead of doing what they did. Disney has disappointed me on many levels…..

        Agreed, 100%!

I totally agree with you. They should stop bowing down to all this . Leave all the classics alone. They didnot affect any of my children growing up.

No it’s not – it’s the right thing to do. Most people are glad Mickey Mouse is calling the shots, not sad ugly bigots like those freaks at Fox News. Spend more time reading instead of burning books. Go outside. Love way more than you hate.

You serious?? People like YOU are the problem.

My sentiments exactly! This has gotten totally out of hand!!! I am 68 years-old, and was raised on these films, and have turned out OK! I venture to say that these people, who are complaining, most likely have friends or family members, who smoke cigarette’s or even worse, weed!! I wonder if they let their kids watch these violent catoons or even worse, these violent video games!!! Do your kids watch the violence on the news! Come on people,It’s time to find your priorities! Open your eyes, and take a look around!!!!!

    ENOUGH, ENOUGH!!!!

You don’t like something, don’t eat it, drink it, ride it, use it etc. STOP destroying the world and lying about it, stop forcing your ideas, dreams and your beliefs on me!!! Growing up we didn’t have these problems, nobody took a cartoon seriously and we all knew that it was entertainment!!!

    1. Marnie

      100% agree.

Well, here’s another stupid thing Disney is doing. Why can’t people just grow up. Parents just need to tell their kids how bad smoking is and how many have died from smoking. I’ve done that with my kids and all but o e chose not to smoke. Please stop listening to all these idiots who think Disney and other companies are wrong. Yes it’s wrong, but sometimes it’s needed to show examples of how bad things are. Parents can talk to there kids. We are here on earth to prove to God that we can be good and return to him. Besides, today’s generation are mostly lazy and overacting.

This is why Disney has lost over a billion dollars in the last year. They are catering to a vocal but minority segment of the population and consequently losing their core group within the majority. If they keep going this way, they may be out of business within a few years.

I think it’s ridicules. Over a 100 years of films and t.v. shows made and there were no issues about them when theses came out. I say leave things the way they are. They haven’t been an issue in the past so why change things now. I grew up on Disney move and shows same with my kids and grandkids
If you have a problem with the show/movie then don’t watch it don’t keep others from watching it just cause you don’t like something about it

This is why I hope disney crashes and does not come back to life ever, they suck!!!!

Woke ruins everything. Who thinks of a centaur as a racial stereotype? Who came up with that? Stop listening to the losers in the left

    1. Jenna

Most people don’t think of a centaur as a racial stereotype, but in this case, Disney definitely did. It’s clear you never saw the scene in question. I saw it on YouTube. Unquestionably racist. Stop listening to losers who can’t even define the word “woke” properly, but just regurgitate whatever rhetoric they hear on Fox News.

Disney needs to grow up and stop trying to censor everything. Heck, there’s a whole Donald Duck short where he forces his nephews to smoke cigars. They gonna censor that, too?

  9. Jimbo

I vote they censor Johnny Depp out of Pirates. Do something useful. Leave the original animations alone.

  10. Anne

Disney would censor a bright sunny day if they found one little thing that they think would offend the poor little oversensitive modern audience. I watched a lot of cartoons that featured characters smoking and I don’t smoke. Some moral shows promoted that smoking was unhealthy. Disney needs to grow up. The modern audience needs to grow up.
