Rowling has the financial cushion to say whatever she wants and still get by, but then, so do a lot of the Hollywood friends she’s lost along the way, including most of the Harry Potter cast. No matter which side of the argument they fall on, they’ll all survive any public backlash or boycotts they might inspire.

    1. Disney, the great procrastinator. This is just an attack on a woman who holds views shared by many, in particular, the UK Supreme Court. But Disney wants to pander to deviancy, as is usual and attacks a talent. Their loss. Oh, lastly Pedro Pascal does NOT have ‘ trans sister ‘ he has a deviant brother who pretends to be female. I wonder what the truth of Pedro actually is. It won’t matter, Pedro is killing his own career, and the sooner the better for me. Similarly, Disney will be gone as an entity in 20 years, how do YOU think it will be remembered? I think it will be remembered, NOT for the genius of its creator, Walt, rather it will be remembered as the Woke/Deviancy supporter it is now.

      1. Jenna

I think Disney will be remembered as a company that stood its ground as an ally in the war on human rights and continued to advocate for legit wokeness rather than the twisted Fox News definition of “Woke” that the MAGA cult dutifully laps up, like an IV full of Kool-Aid injected directly into their veins. Within 20 years, Disney will not only be thriving as a company with record theme park attendance, but will be celebrating the first gay Commander-In-Chief to be added to the Hall of Presidents. I, for one, hope I live long enough to see it.

Thanks for asking. This was fun.

Disney was a very traditional, family oriented company. It was only recently Commies took it over from within.

          1. Spank You Very Much

Okay, C, let’s see you prove it. *reaches for popcorn*

      2. Walt

Yup – and if this series was canceled by right leaning people against a leftist the woke mob would be celebrating. How about ONE SIDE stop censoring thought.

        1. Jenna

You mean the way rightwing religious zealots tried to cancel the Harry Potter books because they were deemed offensive in their promotion of black arts and “the occult”? You mean THAT kind of censoring? LOL

  2. JJ

I stand with JK Rowling!!! She has every right to be against the woke crowd. A lot of normal people are. Get over it, little crybaby leftists!

    1. Sandra

I agree, she has every right to her opinions and beliefs just like others. Who gave the Woke community the right to silence others who think and feel differently? The Woke and GAY communities need to grow up.

      1. Jenna

Every community has the right to express their opinions and she doesn’t seem to be suffering or silenced at all.

  3. Ricardo

I whole heartedly agree and support JK Rowling.,.. These books and films are No place for the perverse views of LBGT(whatever) minority… I will BUY MORE of here books and movies…

  4. Candie

And they say that the right is intolerant and ban books. These vendors should look at where the rest of their hands a pointing while they are pointing fingers at others.

    1. Sherri

Nobody is banning books. A store has decided to no longer carry the projects of one author. Besides, it was the intolerant right that actually banned the entire Harry Potter series. Pick a lane and stay in.

      1. Jenna

It’s funny how people forget that. Years ago, extreme right-wing religious zealots were banning Potter for promoting black arts and “the occult.”

  5. Mr Conservative

Quit giving the sexual perverts power! Rowling is right.

  6. Ben

I’ll be supporting The Creator, not celebrating the Creators death.

  7. Tommy V

You know what’s really sad? It’s the fact that because Rowling has an opinion that is different than that of the leftists and won’t cowtow to their narrative, she gets “cancelled” by the very people who bought every book and watched every movie she made. These people are hypocrites and their opinions don’t matter. J.K. will do just fine without their support. I give her props!!

    1. Jenna

Are you saying it never happens in reverse? Are you claiming that the right never tries to cancel people on the left for simply having a different opinion from them? If that’s the case, then Jimmy Kimmel, Bruce Springsteen, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher, John Stewart and The Chicks (among countless others) would like a word with you.

      1. C

Those people all still have their jobs, no matter how disgusting their filth views are.

        1. Jenna

Explain how Rowling no longer has her job.

  8. MC

I was hoping this was going to be a cancellation of the TV series, since it’s being horribly mishandled, anyway. The TV series was supposed to be more true to the books, and include scenes that were not possible for the movie lengths. None of that is happening.

What happened to Freedom of Speech? This is the USA is it not? If some people refuse to give JK her right to an opinion, there is something wrong with you!

    1. Spank You Very Much

JK Rowling is not American. LOL

    2. Sherri

Nobody is refusing to let her have her opinion. But her opinion does not have to accepted or taken lightly and there is always the possibility of consequences. It seems her followers care more about that than she does.

Everyone has the right to believe what they want, state their opinions, and support causes they believe in. For those who have this aggressive issue with that, cancel yourself and stop trying to censor what others can and cannot read, write, watch, listen to etc. Women’s rights have had to be defended throughout history (since we finally got em) and it continues here.
Personally I’m not anti trans, but there is a huge difference between a truly transgender/transexual person and an overzealous transvestite who has jumped on the trend and is trying to force themselves into situations they shouldn’t. These actions actually take away from someone genuinely transgender, which is scientifically known to be rare. So when a woman recognizes this and speaks out in defense of her rights even in a jest /sarcastic jab, she gets “punished”. It’s pretty lame considering many prominent, real TS/TG humans would agree with Ms Rowling’s views.
And let’s also acknowledge how we cannot agree to disagree or debate in a civil manner to the effect of it infiltrating entertainment and other areas where honestly it shouldn’t matter. It’s another divisive tactic – call it what it is- in the mob “woke” mentality. Who started this nonsense anyway?!
I could continue and type out this whole long rant but most people won’t read it anyway so I’ll just go with Woke is a joke. JK Rowling can believe whatever she wants politically, I still love her work!

    1. Tim

Trans people make up a fraction of the population here in the US. Identifying as Trans is exceedingly rare but politicians want to make you think it’s much higher. Seems you’ve fallen for that rhetoric too.

      1. The Only Smart One Left

Fallen for the rhetoric how? When she even mentions in her comment that people who are truly transgender are scientifically rare…? Maybe read more than just half the comment and make assumptions after you get to the end? That’s an idea anyways. 🥴

    2. Tish

First comment on here that’s actually made any sort of sense. The rest is regurgitate drivel spouted by the bipartisan lunatics yelling at each other over the fence. Can those of us who are intelligent please form our own party and kick the rest of the extremists out? 😂

  11. C

I am glad that someone in an actual position of power can take a stand against evil. A lot of people with much less money and power have suffered under liberals.

    1. Tim

People suffer under conservatives too. I remember all the people that died because Trump turned against his own vaccine that HE forced through. I remember how Bush involved us in a 20 year war and all the men and women who came home in a flag-draped coffin. To act like it’s only liberals that people suffer under is dumb.

  12. D

The artist and his/her work are separate. Period. Not selling her work just because you don’t like her personal views is childish.

And to the store that said they weren’t carrying HP anymore because of her “nastiness,” I have a question: Do you carry Mein Kampf, the Communist Manifesto, Mao’s Little Red Book, the works of Martin Heidegger, etc., etc? If so, I struggle to understand your moral compass.

    1. Sherri

You’re comparing apples and orange. Rowling’s works are not history. Imagine it this way. What if Rowling starting it her mission to speak for the LGTBQ community and a shop owner decided to then discontinue carrying her works. Would you consider that shop owner childish?

      1. Jenna

Amen, Sherri. Not only that, but a private business owner can run their business – in this case, a book shop – however they see fit. That’s not preventing Rowling from expressing her views; it’s giving the shop owner a platform to express the shop owner’s views.

  13. rteker

great as some of the casting choices REALLY didn’t meet the descriptions of the characters from the book. It was already getting alot of negativity

  14. Sherri

I was just thinking about the series, wondering if would still go on. A wise choice to scrap it although it won’t affect Rowling one bit.

So many going on about woke and cancelations and censorship. Where were you when the right was canceling all of the Harry Potter books? What if Rowling starting making it her mission to speak for the LGTBQ community. Would you be ok with canceling the series then?

  15. Gandalf

Yall are some sick and twisted individuals if you think someone cant have their own opinion of something if its different from your own. The sooner all of the obviously mentally unstable individuals that think a man can be a woman and has as much right to women’s jobs or sports or woman’s safe spaces, is either gotten the help they need or put o&t of our misery, the better. Im tired of hearing about this crap day after day. Enough is enough. If you dont care that your 8 year old daughter or 18 year old sister will be exposed to some sicko undressing in front of them then you are the problem and deserve to stop living. Im grateful my children are all grown and dont have to worry about stuff like that because they can take care of themselves, but if I were to find out any of this crap had been going on around my granddaughter, I’d be going to jail. Lastly, I really dont give a damn if you’re offended or upset or angry about anything ive said. Thats YOUR problem, and if your parents had raised you properly you’d probably realize that, and wouldnt expect everyone to kiss your a$$ because if they dont, youll be offended and youll start screaming and crying, but since you obviously weren’t raised properly, well, there you are.

    1. Spank You Very Much

The wonderful thing about this, Gandalf, is that it works both ways. We don’t give a damn if you’re upset or angry or sick of hearing about this every day. That’s a YOU problem.

      P.S. Tolkien is woke.
