Would love to comment with a pic from my recent trip for my 50th bday. The pic alone was magic to me! This trip was kind of a tongue in cheek protest of growing old. I decided to Disney Bound for the first time ever and though it wasn’t a princess, I wore a Minnie inspired red polka dot dress. Once my family and I got inside the park, there was Minnie in her matching dress! I hadn’t even planned to do a meet and greet, but I really wanted a pic with our matching dresses. My family encouraged me to go ahead and get in line and I’ll tell you, when a character waves you over the magic just takes over! Yes, if you fight it, you’ll remember it’s just an actor. But if you go with it, (that’s what you’re there for after all!) you may even get a little star-struck and emotional like I did. I didn’t even know what to say or do. I just wanted to pose for a quick pic. But Minnie reminded me I also had an autograph book in my hand and she happily signed for me. All I could do was blurt out, “I love you Minnie!” Lol. Because in that moment, I was with the adorable and sweet Minnie Mouse! And the magic engulfed me. My biggest protest to growing older might just be the changes my body is going through. I’m a lot rounder and wrinklier than I’m used to seeing myself so I normally hate pics of myself. But on my 50th birthday, the smile on my face was so big I looked half my age!!! I was beaming from ear to ear like a child! Best pics I’ve taken in years!
Love meeting the Princesses. In fact, all the characters are delightful to meet. It’s wonderful to just relax and let the everyday stress fall away for a little while. Imagination just flows. And to smile at seeing the kids and their expressions of wonderment. I will always support this. This is just a refreshing way to kick-start your mind.
