Because there were no riots or rioters really happening. The “non-lethal” ammunition used by the police forces and military has been inflicting several significant injuries. Mr. Moran is certainly entitled to his opinion, but it must be remembered that ABC is a corporation, and in this age of social media, corporations closely monitor the accounts of their employees. Stating your opinion can be hazardous to your career. I happen to agree with him, but I can also see ABC’s side. They are supposed to be above political bias.
Depends if it was his personal account or not. He still is an American citizen and has a right to express his view, which in this case was more of an analysis of psychological motives, which journalists do all the time, rather than any political view. What he posted didn’t look politically biased, it was more of an individual analysis of a few people.
