No he stopped the welfare hand outs to people who did not deserve it. And by the way it was not Medicaid and welfare’s money – it was the TAXPAYERS MONEY not the governments. Its easy to make untrue and insane accusations – much harder to provide substantive evidence… innit pudding
Oh I’m sorry, you’re right!! The places that the money was earmarked for never got it, so how can it be anybody’s right?? Maybe give it back to us taxpayers.
I am glad the governor went to Epic Universe. This is a very big project for the benefit of Universal’s guests and the Central Florida economy. I greatly approve of Universal’s unwillingness to wade into social and cultural re-engineering politics like Disney did, to Disney’s detriment with many parents and grandparents, who decide where families spend their entertainment dollars. I do not know if this new lack of trust is permanent.
Again making something out of nothing. He’s been to Disney many times, Disney has been run into the ground. Rides don’t work a lot of the time. Why wouldn’t he want to go visit the brand new park with a refreshing atmosphere? Grow up and do better.
Stop making it political! I’d be more surprised if he hadn’t had an invite. Disney is Disney, Universal is Universal. Both are good for Florida tourism.
Seems like the title is not matching the story. Just because he shows up at universal doesn’t mean he has cut ties with anyone. I mean anybody with half a brain would know that obviously he would be more in favor of universal over Disney simply because universal decides to stay out of politics all together on either spectrum. As a theme park that’s what it should do It should be about providing a safe yes inclusive but fun family friendly time for all in attendance not making political stances on either side of the aisle. By making political statements you are alienating a group of people that may decide not attend your park otherwise because you have decided to be vocal about your political outlook when that should have nothing to do with a family theme park.. as a Florida native since 2011 I’ve never been to Disney have no desire to go. I have always went to universal. Disney is over priced and whether I agree with or disagree their political outlooks It’s sours me on wanting to spend my money on a company that is willing to alienate groups of people that may attend their park simply because of their political affiliation or religious beliefs etc. I would rather just go have a fun time somewhere that doesn’t bring politics up at all because that’s what we’re going for is an escape to go have fun I don’t need it to be molded by political outlooks or identity politics. I love everyone and want everyone to have a good time and that should just be a given unlike how Disney has to get on their soapbox and let it be known how they feel and make it be known that we should feel exactly the same way on every level.
This is no big deal. Every WDW park grand opening had celebs. In fact, this one seemed muted. I expected it to have a live grand opening on NBC like the WDW (NBC and ABC) ones in the past.
DeSantis will be in the dustbin of history in less than two years. Disney will be around long after he’s gone. There is room for both Disney and Universal. But, it was Disney thay made central Florida what it is today.

Sounds like you are stirring the pot! Looking for controversy. Maybe he was invited and accepted.

Sounds like you’re trying to start an argument!

He can afford it with the 10 million his wife stole from Medicaid and welfare .
