I guess there’s no accounting for taste. Or maybe its just all the little kids clamoring to see another Disney retread that will be forgotten in short order rather than becoming one of the classics that Disney use to be known for.
Lilo and Stitch was part of my childhood to but if I want to please my nostalgic inner child I’ll watch the cartoon, not these DEI, souless remakes. I read about this movies storyline on Wikipedia and learned all I needed to know about how changed it was to not give it the time of day. I knew in advance that were going to girlboss Nani and Lilo. (Stitch was the hero in the cartoon but both Lilo and Nani rescue Stitch in the remake) After the whole Ohana/Nobody gets left behind thing, Nani passes her sister off on someone else so she can go be Miss Independent Career Woman. They race swapped the ice cream man and animal shelter lady just to show how much Disney hates having white people in their stuff. And making Jumbaa be the villain after completely wiping out Gantu? This movie was uncalled for. I’m ashamed of anyone who likes this movie.
I blame all these idiot Disney adults/nostalgia crowd for continuously supporting these watered down, left-wing remakes. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only smart person to not fuel the fire for them.

Disney does not care too much if this becomes another “classic” or not. This woke movie is making bank.

There is nothing woke about this movie and that is why it is making back as you say. Saw it liked it but the cartoon is way better.
