I love Disney, the enchantment, the wonder, the fairytale…. this concept is nothing like that… Disney doesn’t design their parks based on the region its located, yes the may include a nod to the state, or country, aka California adventure, but it’s still Disney throughout. It’s perfect example, when this concept was revealed decades ago, I was stead fat saying it sounds very stupid, why would I want to go to a park that mimics the state I live… it sounded terrible. And had they went with the original pitch it would have been. But what was re imagined turned out to be more Disney inclusive and hints of California. Because had it went the other route I know I’m not the only one that was planning a complete boycott of the new park. With that said I’m sure Texans feel the same way. Why pay the insane admit if money it now costs for any theme park, much less one that doesn’t take your anywhere but to the states past and present… where’s the escape, the wonder, the fantasy. I really hope if they go forward with any plan they invite actual imagineers to rethink the themes. I’m not a famed imagineer, but just off the top of my head if you want the old west, make a woody land, or if you want sofas and future to represent mission control in Houston, create a light year land, you want to portray the hard working fabric of Texans make it zany and feature the 7 dwarfs… make it Disney… because people won’t pay to see their surrounding cities enclosed behind fences.
This amusement park is not being built by Disney so they could not use the IP of Woody, Buzz or the Seven Dwarves. This would be illegal without receiving permission from Disney. They would also have to pay Disney to use them.
They mentioned Dallas area and Houston. Houston would be interesting in that they could have port access, or their own port and start cruise and park packages. I think it’s just a matter of time before Disney develops a new park somewhere given the political issues on both coasts. It’s just when. Given the current balance sheets I’m not sure of the near future would be the right timing.
Houston already had someone try this. Go look up grand Texas. They got a water park and a rv park then it dried up and no mention anywhere of the large theme park. I don’t see this happening
This young lady bought property on top of a neighborhood in a community that hates the idea. Nobody wants it, nobody will go to it…hope any possible investors realize that nobody will drive an hour outside of Houston to eat overpriced BBQ served by a socialite dressed as a cowgirl!

Really hope not. Won’t go to Texas. And at this point considering skipping Florida until things change. Don’t want to give either state 1 dime.

Florida is bad but Texas is worse. The only bright spot is Austin.

They would have plenty of illegal immigrants to work there.
