Iger needs to retire, last week. The CEO who made Disney what it is today – by buying Lucas, Marvel, Pixar, building parks in Asia, now wants to build a park in a truly evil country. Who the h would want to go there? No one. No one goes there now to their empty theme parks. This is shockingly offensive.
Iger and D’Amaro should resign after this decision. It is a true cash grab by the company. I wanted to believe this is a Bob Paycheck move, but it is not that reality. With moves against women and LGBT community, human trafficking, ruled by Sharia Law, it is abhorrent Disney chose to partner with the UAE. There are so many other options they could have chosen. I am beyond disappointed. I know small protests and boycotts won’t touch Disney, but this really makes me want to cancel my AP & Disney+.
This is just about money pure and simple.
It’s a despicable country with their out dated laws that don’t belong in a modern world,so no it’s not a place i would visit as a woman,I’m straight married and old but still wouldn’t feel comfortable just knowing how they treat people
It’s good though because since Bob Iger is woke, I’d love to see the look on his face when the Arabs tell him they will not accept LGBTQ in their country. For once, I’m on the Muslims side.
I am amazed that the 5% letter community gets most of the attention in this article. I can choose to avoid the parks during their Pride and other events if I want to. I have had both great and terrible experiences during them and the worst was from off duty park employees, not letter community attendees. I have also met great people who were part of the community.
Disney now has something aimed at the 95% crowd in the works. Not a bad target audience percentage wise. Much better than tailoring it for the 5% from a business perspective.
Many can’t afford to eat at Carthay Circle or Blue Bayou. Some choose not to eat at Pizza Planet. We can choose what we want to experience. We can ALL choose whether we want to go to any particular Disney park or to avoid any or all of them. Nobody is making any of us go there. If it isn’t for you then please allow the rest of a chance to decide for ourselves without having to know your negative feelings on the matter. And if you are into the Pride events then please enjoy them. I’m going to skip them. I will skip Orlando, Paris and Saudi Arabia as well.
The rainbow alphabet crap needs be to illegal here to. Sick of them being put on pedestals. Sick of people who can’t figure out their gender. Sick of people who support them.
Rainbow alphabet people couldn’t accept themselves for who they were, therefore don’t expect me to accept them for what they are now.
