Hope one day I’ll try either Cinderella’s Royal Table or Chef Mickey’s. Whichever has convenient service & a time to be there. I’d try their breakfast option & go close to my birthday period. So far other restaurants have been a little cooperative with myself. But I wouldn’t want to go too far overboard if I didn’t get my way of choosing the restaurant I really want to dine in for my special moment.
One reason I stopped going to Disney. The staff quality (among other things) has declined greatly. I had a great time at Universal and every staff member was wonderful and helpful, in some cases far more than expected.
I had a problem with Space 220. Then was told it’s not owned or run by Disney. I was I had to contact the company that runs it. I have emailed them at least 5 times with NO response at all.
When you deal with the number of people Disney does each day, you need policies and should adhere to them. People would be showing up without entire parties while some shopped or finished a ride. Running behind, even with reservations, happens at every restaurant on the planet. It isn’t pleasant but it is a reality. Accommodating lagging guests would throw off their schedule and cause unnecessary extra work for those checking people in and seating guests if they had to make multiple trips to the table for every party. People would absolutely abuse any flexibility with party seating because, although it isn’t the case in this instance, there are inconsiderate and entitled people swarming the parks.
I get the frustration. Personally we’ve never had to wait that long past our reservation time. But here’s the thing. Why not shop before you get to the restaurant. That way there isn’t an issue. Or let the host know that due to the wait you were just going to run to get your kid their toy and that you’ll be right back.
There are extenuating circumstances where Disney should be flexible. This was one of them. If they were there on time, to have to wait another 45 minutes is ridiculous.
I was pushed off as a solo diner at Rainforest in DS. I had a reservation, yet they were seating groups, who didn’t even have reservations, before me! Then to add to it, I had counted 17 open tables!! Never go there again.

I would be pissed.
What if you walked away just to go to the bathroom and ended up basically getting kicked out of the restaurant?
