The pilot had a medical emergency. I don’t know the cause of said emergency but that is what I have heard from CMs who have connections. This incident had nothing to do with the reliability or condition of the ship.
I hope the pilot is okay and that anyone who was shaken up/hurt is also okay.
We love the ferry and one incident doesn’t mean anything is wrong with the ferry’s. We look forward to our trip and hope they’ll always run. The Skyliner frightens me and they had issues when they first started. I think Disney did a wonderful job in the aftermath
My first visit in March 1977, on college spring break, I was on the ferry headed toMK. Halfway across the lagoon, the ferry hit something in the water and everyone was thrown forward. I was on the second level on a railing and literally had to hang on for dear life because I almost got thrown over. We sat in the water for quite awhile until the ferry started moving again. It was like we hit a brick wall.

Just need to investigate and find the cause. That will determine what, if anything, needs to be changed.
