Three construction workers wearing helmets and holding blueprints discuss the architecture of a building resembling a decorative town hall with a clock tower under a clear blue sky. The building has red brick, white columns, and American flag bunting inside of Magic Kingdom, near the Rivers of America location at Walt Disney World Resort.

  1. This is one of the greatest mistakes Disney can make. Lightning McQueen, as fun as the movie is for kids, it’s a movie. How many are still talking about Lightning and Tomater? The Rivers of America was based on literature that is studied every year in all schools. Who has not heard of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn? It’s everlasting. Not including the history of the past. The real America. We all learn from history. The good and the bad so as to never make the mistakes again. Fictional movie or fictional literature with life lessons and a touch of history reality. You decide! For me and my home, we want the later for family members coming in the future

Too bad Walt is not still alive because this would never happen. Put this car’s attraction in Hollywood Studios.

I’ve been to WDW 8 times. I’ve done the Liberty Belle and Tom Sawyers exactly once. It’s been a dead area for at least a decade, and Disney is making a wise choice to turn it into something that will attract new crowds. I hope they gut the Speedway as well. It’s an attraction that has reached the end of its life.

      It’s pretty, not dead

Thank you for this suggestion. I’m going to do it, and ask family and friends to as well. I feel this change is completely wrong for the area, and if they most take over another space, take Speedway. Much more appropriate.

Yes, take Speedway! Leave MK alone!

Cars land belongs in the Hollywood Studios Park, how hard is this, leave the Magic Kingdom alone, enhance it, with technology, don’t destroy the history or story telling of the iconic park, of Walt’s Vision as they did with EPCOT!

I’m so glad there’s such a huge outcry over placing the Cars Racers in the MK. What they SHOULD do is build a whole Cars Land in HS! It makes sense at HS, but NOT at MK, and NOT by removing ROA. Whoever thought up and approved the current plans should be fired. Seriously.
