Meh…Hamilton is way over rated. As are Miranda’s simplistic compositions

Hey Miranda? I hear Amazon is hiring? But then you’d probably s_ck at that too?

      Like you do?

Who cares what this guy thinks. To have an unhistorical play and race swap real people is goofy anyways. Let’s remake Roots and use a Mexican and Chinese cast. I support my president 1000%

      Agree!! 👍

    2. KAREN

Then you 1000% deserve what you got!

Thank you. I get lower taxes, a safer country from a secure border, no men in women’s sports, no taxes on tips or overtime, no more money sent to Ukraine, a President without dementia, a President who actually wants to find missing and exploited children (found 80,000 in his first two weeks when joe biden lost 320,000 in four years), a Presidential cabinet that isn’t racist or woke and won’t get arrested for stealing women’s luggage. The list goes on and on. So yes, I agree, I will get exactly what I deserve and voted for.

“don’t want Republicans going to their shows.”

That’s not true. They have no problems with Republicans at all. It’s MAGA and Trump’s lackeys (as well as the administration) that are not welcome. They would get nothing out of it, anyways. Culture isn’t really their thing.

Race swapping actual historic figures is not culture. The music is not culture. Would you find it acceptable to cast Donnie Yen as MLK? Perhaps Rosie O’Donnell as James Earl Jones? That would be so culturally rich wouldn’t it?
I personally have seen Andrew Lloyd Webbers plays and loved them.
The problem isn’t that we lack culture, it’s that we have something the left doesn’t. Morals.

They use Black figures because it uses Hip-Hop, and trusts that the audience could see that. I guess that was wishful thinking

        1. Tony McManus

So you would be supportive of and all white cast for black historical figures and use rock and roll? I know I wouldn’t. I want historical figures represented correctly. I even want source material to be represented correctly no matter what race they are.

“MAGA brain” gets in their way. Most cults are too much in their own world to understand anything going on in reality. Unless their cult leader (the guy who bans the media any time they hurt his feelings) tells them…

…now that I think about it, he WOULDN’T! One look at the Hamilton cast’s skin tone; and the cult deems it “unAmerican” — that non-white people are portrayed as human.

Come to think about it: Hamilton cast/crew really doesn’t need to worry. Sure, REPUBLICANS might be in the audience. However, MAGA will most likely stay away. It goes against what their cult leader tells them too think.

I suppose from what I am reading here then is that Mickey should be played by a real mouse, Goofy by a real dog and so on. What difference does it make. They are actors playing a part. This is why Lin is right. These people have no understanding of Art or theater or history for that matter, so why waste time on them. The Kennedy Center will be a poop show until Trump is gone.

Shame on any artist who prioritizes political grandstanding over their commitment to making the arts accessible to all. The true power of art lies in its ability to transcend politics, bring people together, and inspire change through storytelling—not through exclusion. Denying audiences access, especially those who may not have other opportunities to experience live performances, only serves to divide rather than uplift.
Moreover, this undermines the very intent of the Kennedy Center, which was established as a national cultural institution dedicated to celebrating and providing access to the arts for all, regardless of political affiliation. Using it as a pawn in political disputes contradicts its core mission—to inspire, educate, and unify through artistic expression. By pulling performances due to political disagreements, artists are not taking a stand for the arts; they are limiting access and punishing audiences who have no control over leadership decisions. If anything, this approach weakens the role of the arts as a unifying force in society.

Lin is so full of himself. A show that changes race on all the characters and has music you can’t understand doesn’t belong in the Kennedy Center. It is reserved for real artists.

It’s a disgrace for this liberal loon to cancel Hamilton because he doesn’t like Trump. Perform it in NY or CA……I’m sure they will fit your politics there.
