Visits to Disney California Adventure Park just got a lot less entertaining for families with preschool-aged children. On Monday, Disneyland Resort confirmed the end of its Disney Jr. Dance Party! show, which has entertained little ones since 2017.
Disney Jr. Dance Party! replaced Disney Junior – Live on Stage! at both Disney California Adventure Park and Walt Disney World Resort‘s Disney’s Hollywood Studios. At the time of its permanent closure, the Disneyland Resort version of the show included characters from Disney Junior shows Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, The Lion Guard, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, and Doc McStuffins.

Earlier this month, Inside the Magic reported that Disneyland Resort had removed all showtimes after March 23 for Disney Jr. Dance Party! from its website. Many Disney Parks fans speculated that this was the show’s end, which has a naturally shorter lifespan than most Disney Park attractions as preschoolers age out of some shows and other characters gain popularity with growing toddlers.
On Monday, March 24, one day after the final posted showtime, Disneyland Resort confirmed the Disney Jr. Dance Party! would indeed close permanently. A new show will take over the space in Hollywood Land “later this year,” and more information will come “soon.” Theme park journalist Scott Gustin (@scottgustin) confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter):
Disney Jr. Dance Party! at Disney California Adventure held its last performance yesterday.
Disney says the show ended to make way for a new show set to debut later this year. More details will be shared soon.

As Gustin mentioned, Disneyland Resort hasn’t provided any details about the new show or its opening date. The Southern California Disney park is currently gearing up for its 70th-anniversary celebrations, which begin on May 16, two months before the resort’s birthday on July 17.
Disney California Adventure Park will celebrate with the all-new “World of Color Happiness!” nighttime spectacular, the return of the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade, and a refresh of Pixar Pier’s Toy Story Midway Mania! attraction.
