“Disney are already anticipating an anti-woke backlash”

Not everyone in the “Woke” cult are for it, either. In fact, I don’t know ANYONE (other than Zegler’s worshipers) who would want to see it. Calling it “Snow Woke” isn’t even accurate. It’s as if they TRIED to make it “Woke” (as the media & social media use that term); but uncovered something that would even make Cthulhu cower in fear.

Disney “fears putting too many microphones in front of Zegler.”

ONE microphone is one too many.

“Although there will not be a premiere in the UK, there will be one in America, with Zegler and co-star Gal Gadot expected to attend”

Um… a “small ‘tightly controlled’ press event in the UK for the film’s debut” is STILL a premiere of sorts. The one in America will make more news though (along with other local, national, and/or worldwide disaster stories).

Why ya gotta lay it on Trump?

      1. Danny O.

Who said anything about Mr. multi-convicted? Are you a bot or something?

OH! You’ve seen my YouTube video: youtu.be/cza7lI6FzI8?si=FpXcgxsUAfzJJUqk&t=486

I hope you realize most of that video was making fun of Snow Woke. Those were Zegler’s quotes…just in Trump’s voice. The “interview” was fake.

        1. Eric

Did you read the story? Zegler talked about Trump. So take you TDS and get out of here.

          1. Roger

I agree. The constant and false accusations towards Trump and the “Felon Fiasco” are so over with. There will be an appeal and to be honest, this so-called “Prosecution” was overturned by the 2024 Election when over half of this nation elected Trump as POTUS.

        2. Walt

Are you referring to the crap sandwiches that they charged him with. Just wait it will all be over turned. I love how people who do not follow these cases form “factual” opinions.

          1. Danny O.

And the stock markets are higher than they have ever been. And grocery prices are SO LOW.

Too bad I live in reality. I doubt I’ll ever understand how the MAGA cult thinks.

        3. Danny O.

Contrary to your beliefs, I am not really Zegler after transgendering into a guy. I responded to someone thinking _I_ said something about Mr. “Tariff…until they tariff back. Then undo and claim them as submitting to me” (which I hadn’t even mentioned him it that time).

    3. Compare the Disney movies released under Michael eisner’s leadership compared to Bob iger’s leadership

    4. Think about the movies that were released under Michael eisner’s leadership compared to Bob iger’s leadership

      1. Walt

no comparison. I worked for Disney and was glad to see Eisner go when he did as he seemed to lose interest – WOW was I a fool. Corps today hire bean counters and people who could care less about the product – that have no skin in the game its not limited to Disney – but it is the saddest example. Iger et al just cares about draining the company of money

    5. “Disney are already anticipating an anti-woke backlash”

How about Disney IS? Geez apparently you didn’t get a passing grade in English.

Disney needs to just shelve the film and move on.

      1. Shelia

I agree 200%. Stop wasting time and money. Can’t compare to original anyway.

      2. Danny O.

Odd that you claim Daily Mail (the sourse ItM quoted — that _I_ quoted (using the copy/paste method) didn’t get a passing grade in English. Aren’t they a British publication?

Why is this website so determined to trash this movie with the goofiest stories? Seriously. Did the producers hit your dog or what?

    1. Pete G

The trashing is well-deserved. Any star of a Disney remake who would repeatedly disparage the original in the way she did should be instantly fired and the role recast and reshot. And if Disney itself is so ashamed of the original that it needs to fundamentally alter it to the point of rendering the title meaningless, it should let the original stand and apply its efforts at live action remakes elsewhere. In a series of cheap shots the current studio management has disparaged (or given approval to the disparaging of) the fairy tale itself, Walt Disney’s masterful telling of it, the late David Hand’s direction, and everything else about it. That tends to lose a studio its adoring fans. If you don’t understand that, it’s no wonder you think the problem is with this website. You’d be wrong about that. Literally millions of people are deeply offended that this film is being released at all at this point. Continuing with the release in the face of all this offense is probably going to be extremely costly to Disney Studios (and Walt would NEVER have let it get anywhere near this point).

      1. S.C.D.C.W.

        couldn’t have said it better!

      2. JP

To your point Walt would NEVER want any of these live action films to be made in the first place. Recycling classic Disney films shows a complete lack of creativity and imagination which is a slap in the face to everything he envisioned and built. ALL of the live action films, albiet Maleficent (because it was a new story line), have been an embarrassment to the originals IMO.

      3. Roger

I agree with you totally. I am saddened that Gal Gidot was caught up in this mess with Rachel. I love Gal Gidot and was excited to see her in the movie. Rachel screwed it up.

        1. Deb

Casting Zegler was the first mistake. Second mistake was Zegler’s big mouth. How dumb can she be? I am sure that she gets a percentage of the box office.

  3. Roman Phreely

Why is Disney giving this loudmouth any play time. She has shown her true self time after time. They should sue her for damages when, not if, this movie flops.

  4. E Fisher

Our family won’t be spending any money on this. WTH did they reshoot to add the dwarves back in, and use CGI instead of actual LP actors!? If you were reshooting anyway, use actors that don’t have many parts written for them to start with! Disney “leadership” failed from the start with this one. I feel bad for Gal Gadot being attached to this steaming pile.

  5. RandyC

Bob Iger’s internal advocacy at Disney to advance Wokeness in all creative releases, all internal employee advancement decisions and all guest interactions has been one of the absolute worst strategic blunders in the history of American business. This has been a misread of Disney’s core consumer base on par with that of Bud Light. Iger will be known as one of the worst CEOs ever. When does this guy retire?

    1. S.C.D.C.W.

      Agree, totally!

    2. Jewel

Can you give a definition of woke or wokeness in the context of your comment. I love Disney movies and theme parks. Considering the crowd yesterday, I am not alone.

      1. Anne

        Disney adult shill alert…

      2. Steve

You’ve never been to a Disney park because if you had been you’d know they are ghost towns.

  6. S.C.D.C.W.

Disney is afraid of the anti-woke? Seriously? Are you still making this flop about the fans and the audience you are trying to serve it to? Are you still such a stupid multi-million company trying to hide your trashy product behind lies and gaslighting? Even the cast hate each-other! How the hell do you expect this to be a good movie?!
Shame the Devil and call it what it is, another sad failure, for which you already know won’t even come close to cutting the mustard in its premier. Have the balls to admit you, once again, made the very bad and mistaken choice of destroying yourselves and your own classics by butchering the original story- this time at quite a high level by NOT ONLY girlbossing the protagonist, this time even degrading the prince to a mere pauper, and calling it “””””inclusion”””””, when in fact its political propaganda.
You even changed the reasoning behind the name of ‘Snow White’ to push your agenda down everyone’s throat. You made the US’ problematic politics a world-wide issue when you know very well that your movies will be heavily depending on income from the hard-earned money made by people outside your country who want to watch a movie away from reality and normal life.
And for what? Simply because the state where your studios are located decided to racebend everything and make it acceptable for people to call themselves ‘they’, ‘them’, ‘summer’, ‘winter’ and anything else under the sun instead of a ‘he’ or a ‘she’? You dropped the rock on your own foot.
You made your beds and sown your oats, now reap the rotten things while you lie in said beds.

  7. Han not solo

    Just another Disney fail.
At least I won’t be spending anything to watch it or will ever watch it. Until Disney gets back to family values and quits trying to push this stuff on people my family is done with them.

    1. CS

      Agree! Well said!

  8. DMH

Wokeness and Ziegler’s obnoxiousness aside, this version of the 1937 masterpiece is doomed by the casting of the title role simply by this fact alone: no one in their right mind is ever going to buy that Rachel Ziegler is “fairer” than the impossibly gorgeous Gal Gadot. Even the Magic Mirror is going to have to acknowledge that.

  9. Shelia

What part of Classic do you not understand. No reason to change a classic. Not wasting my time or money. I’m disappointed in how the New Disney People are destroying Walt’s work.

  10. Tony McManus

Just cancel the entire project for crying out loud.

  11. Jessica

Canceling the UK premier wasn’t enough. They need to cancel the whole rotten movie.

While Zegler is one of the biggest problems, Disney is the one that *started* the problem by feeling that a beloved, timeless classic needed updating with political correctness. They thought people would just love the idea of Snow White forming an army and saving the poor helpless man.

Not only does this movie insult Germany, because the story was written in Germany and the role rightfully belongs to a German girl, it insults America to have Zegler in it, and it insults Walt Disney like a slap to his face to change up the very first animated movie he ever made.

  12. Amity

With the exception of Beauty and the Beast, the live actions are duds. Disney needs to stop remaking all these films and changing the characters so as not to offend anyone. Have a backbone and stand by your original. Make new movies that are inclusive but don’t try to change the other beloved classics. They are what they are.

    1. Anne

The Beauty and the Beast remake was disgusting. I refused to watch it because of the woke romance they stuck in there.

  13. DCB

I used to be a big Disney…let me repeat used to be. I have a nice size collection of Disney memorabilia. They have gone through the roof with sky high prices to attend the parks, the cruise line has never been “affordable” without going deep into debt and the movies aren’t worth my time anymore. Truthfully, I’m saving a lot of $$$ not supporting Disney.

  14. Deborah

I didn’t see the remake of Ariel either, when you have a beloved movie there is no reason to change it up. Can you imagine if they remake Tiana with a white girl…the uproar would be heard around the world and rightly so. Leave the classics alone and do your jobs as Imagineers and imagine new princesses and leave the originals alone!!!

    1. Tony McManus

The original Princess actually was white. It’s a german folk tale.

  15. Steve

Looking forward to the return of the classic Studio System and Hollywood going back to 1939 again when the media giants are broken up and the studios handed back to the families of the great studio bosses like Louis B. Mayer. Movie stars will be contracted to and owned by the studios again. Back to the days of when Judy Garland dreamed of a land somewhere over the rainbow. I’m looking forward to Zegler taking part in a walkout over it and publicly declaring she’s rather never act again than be owned by MGM or another studio.

  16. Stephen

If this film flops it will be because Disney made every possible wrong decision when make it. Rachel Zegler was miscast. Period. Full stop. Her skin was not white as snow. It’s in the text. The dwarfs look stupid. The Peter Dinklage criticism was ridiculous. The dwarfs should have been live actors shrunk to size just like in the Lord of the Rings films. The storyline should have remained true to the original. No updates. Love’s first kiss is the point. Female empowerment is not. Disney establishes canon for its animated films and characters. If the promise is a live action remake of an animated classic the expectation is an exact representation of the original. Even when the story has been new like Maleficent or Cruella the characters stayed true to the original animated characters. While The Little Mermaid stayed true to the story, Ariel is white with red hair. That’s Disney canon. Would it be alright to cast Anya Taylor-Joy as Tiana in a live action Princess and the Frog? Probably not. Anya Taylor-Joy probably should have been cast as Snow White.

Disney helped create this woke culture and now they can’t put the genies back in the bottle!
