“The design and concept of the new ‘The Lion King’ flume ride bear similarities to the classic Splash Mountain attractions that once operated at Disney parks in the United States. Both rides utilize log flume mechanics to tell a story, combining gentle river sections with thrilling drops. However, the thematic shift to ‘The Lion King’ offers a fresh narrative and visual experience, allowing guests to engage with a different facet of Disney’s rich storytelling heritage.”

Why does Disney PARIS get the BETTER version, while DisneyLAND & Disney WORLD (both in USA) is stuck with the PATHETIC version?

While I DISAGREE that an African story — told by black people (to keep their African heritage/culture alive) — is racist, I can also see reskinning it — to tell a new story — as being not so bad. However, Tiana was a failure at that.

Why does the U. S. A get bad choices while other countries get the best rides.

What was Tiana post to show? It doesn’t show anything. While other countries get better things while we pick the most boring things. That doesn’t show anything.

  3. OLD DISNEY WAS BETTER

Just remake splash mountain. You would make the majority you Disney fans happiness again and a ride to say hay lets go on again and again. Make Disney Great Again!

They will never re-do the current craptacular version of splash mountain. We will be stuck with this mediocre version for the foreseeable future after losing one of the most iconic and joyful rides Disney ever produced. Thank you Tony Baxter John Stone et al too bad Iger and his ilk destroyed your beautiful work

Splash Mountain never changed. There is no Tiana and Tony Baxter’s masterpiece is up and running this second at WDW and Disneyland. I’ll be enjoying them for WDW’s 75th and Disneyland’s centennial in 2055.

The comments are always a representation of what’s going on in the United States. There are different rides and different variations of rides in international parks. Everything doesn’t have to be White centered and other stories and representations are allowed to exist. Please enjoy EVERYTHING else in the park that has White people front and center and leave the one ride that includes the ONE Black princess alone if it bothers your racist sensibilities so much.

Exactly. Since 99.99% of the park is still White, keep strolling past the rides you don’t like until you find rides you do. It keeps the lines shorter for the rest of us.

Um…it’s SIMBA. It’s NOT Kimba. Simba isn’t the WHITE lion you believe him to be.

Paris is France. France is in Europe…not USA. While the comments about Bayou Adventure refers to the American replacements of Splash Mountain (as I don’t know if Disney in Asia has replaced THEIR Splash Mountain or not), the REASON for the comments is about how much better PARIS (in FRANCE) did with their replacement — of an African story told by [history hidden by Disney] to keep their African culture alive.

      1. Brandon

The larger point is that you can keep strolling past any ride you find objectionable and choose any number of other rides you find preferable instead, thereby making the line shorter for me at the one you just passed up.

There is no capital W when referencing white people – just as there is no capital B when referencing black people. To capitalise either is to infer one is better than the other, which, as I’m sure you’re aware, is racist.

      1. Spank You Very Much

We can spell and capitalize things however we want and you’re powerless to stop it. There is no capital S in stephen because I just decreed it so and will continue writing it thusly. Good luck making me comply otherwise.

Not racist and 100% white. Princess and the Frog is a top 3 Disney movie for me. I love the heritage shown, the message is great, and it has wonderful characters and songs. My ring tone is “Dig a little Deeper “.
Having said that. You don’t screw with an all time great and loved ride. Splash is #1 in many Disney faithfuls minds. It will be missed for at least a generation.
