If you get a TEXT MESSAGE claiming you owe Sunpass tolls, you don’t need to verify it. It is fraudulent. Report it as spam and delete it, and you’re done. If you get an EMAIL, go to the official website to check whether you owe Sunpass any money. I have gotten 2 or 3 of these scam text messages in the last few days.
I live in Florida but have a PA EZ Pass and have received the same notifications several times of unpaid tolls. So, it appears the same scam is infecting the whole system, not just the FL EPass
I literally just got one of these spammy text messages right before I opened up my Chrome and started reading this article. How spooky is that. Of course I marked it as spam, which automatically deleted it, and went about my day, because I’m not stupid! I just wish other people would just realize how fakie these people are if you call them out. Good luck to everybody out there. Watch your backs!
