As I said before, Disney should begin a project to construct 10,000 new housing units for cast members. This would relieve them of having to purchase living units on the economy. They should be charged 10%% of their pay for housing and utilities. This would relieve them of the burden of housing shortage.

Disney has the know how to do this. They have the ability and the land. They also have the assets including money for this project. With the new methods of housing construction, they could have these 10,000 housing units completed by 2027.

In the immediate future, there is a ‘new’ 700 unit housing facility becoming available. This could be the first of the housing units available for the cast members. This would be a stop gap measure until the 10,000 housing units are finished. It would be a good start and signal the seriousness of which Disney would be facing this problem.

Since this would be on Disney property, an expansion of the Security Services and Fire Services would be necessary. New construction jobs would be required. The unions would be impressed by Disney’s desire to alleviate an obvious problem faced by the Disney employees. $60 billion goes a long way and a fraction of that could materially help the Disney employees.
