Big deal. If you let politics spoil your vacations and good times, then so be it. Less people and less lines at the parks will be a good thing for most people.
The majority of vacationers to WDW and Florida in general, will appreciate the difference this “boycott” will make. It’s a double treat for us! Smaller crowds, hopefully… and finally other countries paying what they should of been paying all along. Win win!
We can tell you`re a old florida guy . You don`t understand that it is the American consumer who will be paying those tariffs . NOT THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN !!!! So you won`t be able to go to WDW or any other place by the time trump and musk are through .Lose lose !!!!
I was coming on here to say the same thing. We are already paying high prices for everything. Have been the last 4 years. Probably won’t even notice. Lol
Exactly!! Less crowds will make it more enjoyable for the people who do visit. If your country (Canada) isn’t willing to stop illegal immigration into the US as well as fentanyl being brought into Canada and through their country into the US, then enjoy the Tariff’s. This is a problem that was created by YOUR country. Just another great job by Trump. Thanks Trump!!
I was coming on here to say the same thing. We are already paying high prices for everything. Have been the last 4 years. Probably won’t even notice. Lol
It’ll be interesting to visit Disney World February 2025. I’m assuming Floriday already got rid of the non-white people there; so there will be less workers. And having an increase charge for imports means Disney has an excuse (albeit, not a REASONABLE one) to charge us everything we have…for what little they can now offer.
These people act like their going to have to pay tariffs on themselves. I say if you don’t want to go, don’t. I’ll gladly go and spend less time in lines.
Amen! It’s actually comical the eve of hatred and cognitive dissonance these people have. Anyone that is so opposed to America First policies needs to maybe think about moving to Canada or Mexico and see how well that works out for them!
First of all you are the one who has no idea what tariffs are . They are a tax put on a good when it GETS TO AMERICA !!! . It is not paid by the country where it is made . The importer pays the tariff not the country of origin . Then they put that tax into the price . That means it gets added on to the price before it gets to the store . Then you pay more because some moron told you it is a good thing for prices to go up . And on top of that you`re too stupid to understand that the poster lives in CANADA and cannot vote in USA elections .
It is of no use to try to talk sense into these brainwashed fools, Frank. Just let them think what they think. Time will prove them wrong. I kind of feel sorry for them.
I think it’s downright sad and awful that this guy is willing to ruin his family’s vacation over his own political views. There are other ways of protesting rather than destroy your own children’s happiness, and it would do well for you to find them. Honestly I don’t see much difference between you and Scrooge/The Grinch. My own hope for you is you turn it around before it’s too late and do the right thing like they did. Otherwise I won’t be surprised if your kids hate you for the next couple of years.
Ah. When Americans vote against the remaining (as many will have left) MAGA cult. It’ll be interesting to see the House & Senate be almost entirely filled with Democrats.
I say good riddance, the parks will be less crowded (although I doubt that). If you are going to let politics dictate what you do you won’t have much fun.
Another article that seems to be written by a Democrat party activist. The tariffs were just applied. No one has felt the effect or even knows what the long term effect is. To cancel a vacation at this point is not likely…at least by a sane person. It is likely that Canada and Mexico will come to their senses and deal with the immigration and fentanyl poisoning crossing their borders….and the tariffs will be dropped.
Rob, educate yourself. The President just wants to feed his ego and make it seem he is so tough. (irregular entry in 2024):
• From Canada to the U.S.: 18,644
• From Mexico to the U.S.: 2 million
• From U.S. to Canada: 28,000
• Fentanyl (seized in 2024):
• From Canada to the U.S.: 43 pounds
• From Mexico to the U.S.: 21,148 pounds
• From U.S. to Canada: 882 pounds
• Ilegal Guns (2024):
• From Canada to the U.S.: 3,000
• From Mexico to the U.S.: 16,000
• From U.S. to Canada: 30,000
(Figures on migrant entries and fentanyl
seizures supplied by U.S. Customs and Borde
Protection.)
Keep feeding into his rhetoric
Canadians are apparently much smarter than half of America. They understand the financial impact that tariffs have, and they understand that the tariff money comes out of their own pockets. When the US imposes a 25% tariff on Canadian lumber, for example, Canadians don’t pay it, US consumers pay it as housing construction costs 25% more. When Mexican avocados are hit with a 25% tariff, it’s not paid by Mexicans. It’s paid by US consumers when the price of margarita or a guac and chips goes up.
And, of course, both Mexico and Canada are already discussing retaliatory policies to reduce their importation of US goods and services. That, too, hurts US citizens and businesses.
So try to wipe the smug off your faces ’cause you will be paying the price for your ignorance about international financial policy. Ignorance can be very, very costly to your own bank account.
You’re absolutely right. Why in he world would we back tariffs? Everyone knows how much Americans love our open borders and the effect is has on our tax dollars. Free Healthcare for illegals, free money for illegals, free housing for illegals. Stay in your own lane Canada, we don’t need your stuff or your people. We’ve seen what your people have allowed to happen. It’s about time your ignorance gets a bill. While we’re at it, Florida wants their houses back. Your people are being asked to leave. Sell your shit and go.
You do know that the tariffs will also equalize the cost of these products? Buy country made products and keep the money here supporting our own people.
Mexico has already negotiated a pause to the tariffs and promised to deploy 10,000 soldiers to the US Border – just like Trump wanted), and I suspect Canada will do the same. It’s not tariffs that Trump is using for those of you libs who don’t understand anything about negotiating at all; it is the THREAT of tariffs!
Glad your canceling. Especially if your not American. Easier for us to get reservations we want. Added benefit Disney hotel prices will no doubt go down. Yeah. Have a great time in Canada.
If you don’t want to pay the tariff buy products made in your own country. Trees grow in America, avocados grow in America.
Last time I went to WDW about 90% of the crap they sell comes from China.
Good stay home. That means it will be less crowded when my family and I go. You cannot let the leaders and their stupid ideals ruin the joys of your children. I will have fun for you!
So nice to see that the majority of responders here have a brain! The THREAT of tariffs… exactly!
And if tariffs become reality, Trump is the only person to have tackled the job of adjusting a skewed import/export system that for years has left the US the loser!
About 75% of Canada’s exports come to the US while only about 13% of our exports go to Canada. About 80% of Mexico’s exports (not counting illegal drugs!) go to the US, while 16% of US exports go to Mexico. This is all wrong! People in our country need to realize its potential and be onboard to reset this unlevel playing field. M A G A !
Simply put: If tariffed imports became unaffordable to us, those other countries would suffer great loss of revenue as well. How long do you think they’d do that before adjusting their prices? Not very long. This is what negotiating strength is. This is what other presidents have been afraid to do. Be thankful Trump is trying to right the wrongs against our country.
If you think Trump is actually running the country you are really naive. Elon Musk is dictating economic control in the US. Trump buckles when any other government (or official) says they’ll suck up to what he wants. And if they don’t or he feels threatened, just get rid of the opposition. Sorry FBI guys. You were just doing your job but Trump doesn’t like you.
Hope you’ll be ready to pay for the price increases coming down the line. The “Pain” trump says we must endure. You obviously are not on a fixed income like a good percentage of Floridians.
Don’t punish your own kids cancelling your Halloween trip to try and make a point because they are the only ones you are hurting. Your children will only be this age once and they grow up so fast. They want so badly to do this and in the blink of an eye, they will no longer care about it. You have very few chances in life to enjoy something that is going to make lasting memories for them to carry through their lives, don’t thow that away over a political point. Disney and Trump already don’t see eye to eye so punishing Disney over something the U.S. gov has done is pointless. Put your kids and your family first. And besides, Halloween is an eternity away, everything will likely be sorted out with a positive outcome by then. Don’t throw away this chance to make your kids happy while you still can. Just look at what happened in CA, in the blink of an eye, everything can change your lives for ever. Grab happiness where you can!

Couldn’t afford Disney with Biden in office either.

Trump lives rent free in your head, doesn’t he?
Ann
He lives rent free in so many heads that it’s pathetic.
OldFloridaGuy
Frank:
Your comments just go to show you have no concept of how tariffs work! No idea of, “who is subsidizing who”, etc.
Open a textbook and figure it out because you’re UNeducation is showing!
Marcy
Wasn’t planning a trip this year but lower crowds has me rethinking this!

You misspelled “illegals”.
Tony
Give Dan a break, after all he’s “special” and he eats glue.
Frank
They should have said all those MAGAs who helped destroy America .
Roger
No, the Demoncrats have already tried hard to do that. You are just too dense to see it.

Another deranged liberal….
Darrell C Parks
Got rid of the “non-white” people? What a pathetic statement. When all else fails, play the race card.
Sergio Sandoval
Boo Hoo! Please stay home! Maybe the parks won’t be as crowded and we won’t have to deal with rude Canadian/European/ guests! 😁😁😁
Frank
And you think your broke ass will be able to make up the difference ?
Kathy
You’re ignorant!
Mike
They will raise prices at Disney either way. Have you not noticed the last few years?

The ones protesting are too dense to even know what tariffs are. They voted for Kamala after all lol.

You can’t teach tariffs to “the poorly educated” (as cf Trump calls his beloved MAGA cult). They are unable to learn.
Correction: All those FAFO videos mean it least SOME — and maybe more — are capable of learning.
