This is awesome. Having not just a young girl playing baseball, but what she does before going up to bat. I used to do the same thing before I got up to bat in softball. Seeing a faith of a child portrayed in a Disney animation is REFRESHING! THANK YOU BOB IGER!
Religious freedom is completely different from freedom from religion. The Constitution does NOT call for freedom “from” religion. People need to relearn the what the Constitution actually says. There is no separation of church and state in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Besides, this is entertainment, not the government. You have every right to skip this movie, but apparently your thoughts are in the minority as Disney’s woke agenda has proven to not be in the majority.
You are mostly correct in what you wrote. The Constitution doesn’t require freedom “from” religion. However, it very clearly prohibits the government from establishing a state religion, such as existed in England when the First Amendment was written. The language is that government shall “make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. So, there is “separation of church and state”, contrary to what you wrote.

AMEN LISA!! – people are woefully ignorant of American history. It was Jefferson who said there was a one way wall of separation going from the govt to faith – not the other way around. Meaning that faith SHOULD influence government and govt needed to butt out of religion. Also after the Constitution was signed there were MANY sates that had official religions that were supported with Tax dollars. I don’t support that BUT facts are facts.
Ironically enough, right before I read this story I learned that “Mac” or “Mc” is a prefix meaning “son of”, as in “McDonald, son of Donald.” So this actually encourages my faith knowing that Jesus Christ shed his blood so that we could be forgiven of our sins and become the born again sons and daughters of God, including you, Mac.
I love this and I want to watch it. I really hope that she actually mentions Jesus. As for anyone misusing the separation of church and state argument, I advise you to read the letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote. It says the state will stay out of the churches business, not the other way around. The founding fathers knew how important it was to keep God in our state/country.
The founding fathers were deists, not religious nuts. They believed in a God. They didn’t believe everyone had to believe in the same god. Would you feel the same if she was a Muslim, Jew, or Buddhist?
NOT TRUE 100% false There were very few “deists” who were founding fathers. But that would require reading history. Whats more not only were they Christian they included many Biblical precepts in the founding documents and quoted from the Bible REGULARLY. Your right they did not believe that everyone had to believe BUT they founded this nation on Christian Principles. And please define “religious nuts”. I have yet to see and blue or purple haired weirdos screeching from the pews of my church. Why is it that you can go to a NFL game paint your face and act like a jackass but it you got to church and pray and live a quiet and decent life you are a nut. It never ceases to amaze me that the side that says they are inclusive and tolerant are tolerant of anything as long as it does not stand against evil
First do a little research into the founding fathers and what they actually believed. Most were Christians with only a couple that were not. But even they recognized how important Christianity is. Also can I assume you protested the other Disney movies that displayed other faiths? Like Hercules, Princess and the Frog, Mulan, Brother Bear and not to mention the Star Wars franchise?
It was easy for me to pass up Win or Lose because of the ugly character design and the fact that originally it was intended to have a woke scene but I was shocked to hear that a Christian character was displayed. That was a very shocking but amazing move from Pixar. I hope more Christianity is displayed in movies.
I remember so many Disney movies from my childhood that I love that my religious friends hated or were not allowed to watch because they depicted a non-white spiritual practice like Taoism(Mulan), Indigenous Shamanism(Brother Bear), and Voodoo(The Princess and The Frog). I feel there is racism in those Christian groups if they are not allowed to enjoy wholesome films with good morals like those listed above but at the same time would praise something like this because it has a “Christian” character in it. People in those religions also demonizes me for being an Autistic Pagan Bisexual Furry and it’s so annoying.
I watched it and was pleasantly surprised. Now, I just hope and pray that this isn’t just a drop in the bucket and instead there will me more meaningfull and less-woke content coming from Pixar and Disney in general.
I hate this ugly style of animation and the overuse of rude kids. I don’t care anything about their personality when I can’t get over the play dough faces and bean shaped mouths.
OMG — Disney getting back to our American roots. Of course respect, and honoring all forms of society, and religions, and personal characteristics, but it may well energize a lot of Americans to herald (or at least feature) Christianity.
Walt Disney thanks you, current Disney management!
This IS hopeful. We have Disney+ but I don’t allow my kids to watch any of the shows. They are have been notorious for adding woke character and situations. I will watch this show myself. Cause sorry, Disney, but you’ve proven yourself not trustworthy. I am hopeful this character is a good representation of an actual Christian family.
Yes well Frollo was a priest too. Actually one of the MOST beautiful scenes in a Disney movie was the scene of Esmeralda singing God Bless the Outcasts!
It sounds like Disney finally put thought into a greater narrative that is inclusive in a much broader way and navigated a difficult topic with finesse. Nice going Disney!
It seems like Disney is presenting, to the faithful, a bouquet of flowers with a note that says, “You have a lovely flower garden. I picked these flowers from it. I hope that you enjoy them!”
It seems to fall well short of what needs to be said and done after years of assaults on the values of the once largest segment of the customer base, the faithful.

I did like that Zootopia, the hinted at the bunny being a Christian.

Terrible idea! What happened to the freedom of religious freedom enshrined in the Constitution? Will skip this one.

Don’t be fooled. The mom reads Tarot cards in this movie. For something intended to be good, there’s always some presence of evil.
Emily
I’m so happy about this.

Ew. More Christians to be obnoxious in this world. Skipping it for sure.
