I was one of those 5 year olds who visited Disneyland for the first time in 1957, two years after it opened. My grandparents took me. Every year after that my parents took us for a fun day at the park. I carried on the tradition with my family taking our first child when she was two years old and my adult children and grandchildren until 2016. We were priced out of Disneyland and none of us have returned. Sadly it appears Disney has let greed take precedence turning its back on the legacy families that built it.
I agree. We have Disney Timeshare. We would go every year sometimes 2 times and once 3 times. All the perks we used to get are gone. The Lightning Lane prices us out of going now
It’s not just the cost. It’s overly crowded and you can’t get on all the good rides, the food doesn’t taste good, and people (including cast members) are becoming more and more rude.
We held annual passes for the past 8 years. After taking away fast passes and free photo pass, they raised the prices. We visited the Disney World parks almost every weekend. Sorry to give it up, but it’s just not worth it anymore. Loyalty means nothing to Disney….
This is not a new promotion, they do this every “off-season”, thats why they offer the 3 day southern California tickets and the 50 dollar a day tickets for kids this time of year. I have been an annual passholder since 1997, we were part of the pandemic group that had to be refunded. We had a child during the pandemic and were not thrilled at the direction disney was going so we didn’t get the magic key when they released them in 2021, but our friends gifted us the 3 day ticket and we upgraded them to the magic in 2022, but we are not renewing this year because there are too many flaws. I’m glad they brought back the photo pass for some.passes but parking is a huge deal and we hate the reservation system. There needs to be some kind of opening time for a reservation-free time or days. We usually visit at around 8pm and the crowds thin out a lot by then. So I think they need to open the reservations say 3 hours before the latest park closing so us late commers can visit without needing a reservation for dinner or just to walk around. I love disneyland and we visit a couple times a week! But we don’t feel valued as loyal customers. The passholders are the ones buying all the merch as well. Collectors. Buying new popcorn buckets and ears and limited time bags, we should be shown the same loyalty. But we are not. It’s so sad. I am beyond 💔. This is truly been my happy place for decades. I always fill out their surveys when they email them to me. I have brought my son since he was 4 months old. He loves “mickeys house”, and he’s turning 3 so we can’t afford a third pass. I wish kids were free until at least 5, at almost 3 he is not interested in rides or characters (fear, like most kids his age, characters in suits and approaching strangers) but he loves churros and popcorn and he loves FANTASMIC (like his MOMMY), I just can’t afford to renew and add a new pass this year. I hope that disney can reevaluate the reservation system.

$1750 and they still block us out for weeks before Christmas and all the way past New Years Eve. Fluck Disney!

Sadly, I don’t see myself ever going back. The last time was 2008. It’s just way too expensive and having to pay extra for rides – no way!
