I visited SWO for the first time since since childhood this past summer, so I can’t comment on changes inside the park much, but yes, it was difficult to nagivate. I have seen the shift in focus towards coasters online and it’s been saddening to see the company lose its soul in such a cowardly, “make me $$$ fast”-way. The wave machine in the dolphin cove was a welcome sight, though.
I have been researching and writing and making videos about killer whales in human care for over a decade (on the anti-Blackfish/pro-human care side), and I just have to tell you you’re wrong on the underwater viewing pool. It is the largest back pool, only the show pool is bigger, in both area and depth. And as some trainers have pointed out, the whales may choose to be in the smaller pools when given the chance, because they find them reinforcing.
Just like you don’t feel a need to always be in the largest room in your house to “stretch your legs” or always go outside for a jog, the whales have no reason to always want to be in the BIGGEST pool, but may have their favorite place somewhere else.
I was there for three days, and the whales were never in the underwater viewing pool, sad to say. They did vary the show quite a bit though, with which whales did what segments (as much as they can with only five whales and two main groupings).
People are never satisfied they stop doing something one way because people were complaining, and they still are complaining don’t go to the park if your not satisfied it’s that simple
Yes! This is what I came to say. People tore Sea World apart because of animals in captivity. Sea World did what they wanted and now they are unhappy still. It doesn’t make any sense. Maybe they just want Sea World to go under? The world is vicious.
I know the Shamu show was what the park made its highlight attraction back in the day but I always found it really boring, even when the trainers went in the water with them.I love the park putting more coasters in but at the same time the other shows like the dolphin and Sea lion shows have shifted to educational which also makes them more boring, although the dolphin show is still very good but I remember the shows having different themes during the summer like Sea Lions tonite that was very funny, they dont do that anymore. Also used to love the Pets Ahoy show that’s also gone.in my opinion they can get rid of the orcas today and it would not bother me,that show is boring,I like the rollercoasters, all the events and festivals and concerts and they have the best Christmas event in Florida. So essentially I like the way the park is heading but would love them to make the other shows more fun instead of educational, bring back the Pets Ahoy show, improve and lower prices on food and pay their employees better which in turn will help the quality of their employees.I love that their going to do concerts Fri-Sun for the Seven seas festival.
Great comment! I live close to SeaWorld and my wife went for an interview for e senior position right after Christmas 2024. The first thing they said at the interview is this position pays 13 an hour. She was shocked and said I am here for a senior level position. The person said I know. Me wife them got up and was so shocked and said I can work at McDonald’s for way more pay. The person just was able to say I know I get that alot but I can’t do anything about it. It is set by the corporate people. SeaWorld not only treats animals bad but humans even worse. Will not support them and will let everyone I can about their selfish practices.
Having worked at SeaWorld, I can voych for the fact that ths very best of care is given to their animals. They are a highly respected animal rescue and rehab facility. The animals who, through no fault of SeaWorld have had to make their homes there are treated with great care, love and dedication.
I am very aware that the pay is not the greatest, and thank God for those who work with the animals that they have that love and dedication to be able to work there.
SeaWorld is trying to reinvent itself and had been doing very well until Covid, with record attendance. They are now owned by a different company, who will hopefully put more into it so it can succeed. I love what the SeaWorld brand now stands for and will continue to dupport them and their rescue and rehab efforts.
The SeaWorld in Hawaii pulling the same bullshit by not allowing viewing of orcas/whales, yet we were charged 12 Full price adult tickets at christmas break and not offered a refund for the orcas AND the interactive bird displays not being available because of their made up bird flu.
No wonder attendance is down you brought it on yourself. But SeaWorld should refund tickets as a common jesture
My problem is there handicap disability passes. They discrimination you for being handicap and embassy you by making fun of you if you have disability. I pay another of money to have a snot ass kid act like God in the pride windows telling me over the speaker I m not aloud to sit where I want. And If I want to sit where I want to walk up a regular ramp and get off my cart. Especially on a slow day when the ride row I want will go empty anyway. That isn’t right. Then I get banned from the ride in front of people because I am disabled. Guest services does nothingbut allow the abuse to people with disabilities is not right. Where is our protection. We can serve our country but we can not sit where we want and get called out by a kid 20 years old who never served in war. No protection for disabilities it’s disgraceful someone needs to go visit kraken ride and get this fixed the treatment is awful
just gotta put this out there, Blackfish is 80% Not true made by people who worked there for a year before they got fired. Seaworld gives their animals high-quality care that other zoo’s imitate. Please do your Research . We need places like this for conservation of animal species that the planets losing, and their rescue work .

Seems to me that this is yet another contentious media story designed to stir the pot. Haven’t you got anything positive to write about?
