Does anyone even like cars now a days? I didn’t really think it had much staying power, I don’t think any of it stuck with me after the first watch when I was a kid and I definitely didn’t feel inclined to watch it again.

    1. Steve

There is no Cars coming to Magic Kingdom. No Villains Land is coming either. Frontierland is never changing. Disney has no right to remove the Rivers of America and I’ll be enjoying them in 2046 for the 75th.

      1. Nia

It is coming if you like or not .Disney can do what they want

        1. Steve

No it is not. Disney cannot do what it wants. The government and Trump have the right to tell Disney what to do. As a military man, you have to do what I tell you, too.

          1. David

I have said this repeatedly. And I will say it again! Disney has three parks with no more than eight or nine ride attractions in them! Yet, they charge premium ticket prices. While guests deal with long lines for the few exciting and popular rides in each Park! Disney needs to add more ride attractions in those three parks. But in their infinite confusing wisdom, they’ve decided to add rides to Magic Kingdom again! Instead of spending that money to refurbish and reinvent Tomorrowland! Space Mountain should not beat people to death! Should be smooth quiet and beautiful! And I think we can all agree there is nothing tomorrow about Tomorrowland Speedway! Although it won’t substantially kill Disney World, epic universe will certainly give us a picture of universals and Disney’s strength in the area! It appears that Universal got serious! And they are more focused on going after Disney’s family Dollars!

          2. Meltigger

Brahahahaha. Sorry that’s not true. It is a business. It can redo parts of its business. Trump is a businessman and knows that.

          3. Steve

No it’s not a business. It’s federal property that can be seized.

        2. Steve

No it’s not coming. Disney has no right to do what it wants. The government has the right to tell Disney how to do its job.

This “piece” was definitely written by a “Disney can do no wrong” fan boy. Probably paid in some way. We spend time at Frontier Land, ride the steam boat and play around the island every year. It’s the only real green space in the park. The new Disney is definitely more globally focused. American nostalgia is slowly getting the ax. It annoys more more and more every year we go. Sad to say, but my family’s days of disney vacations are coming to an end. One more thing… just look at the wait times and line length for each ride. They could never change another thing and people would still come from around the world to stand in line for hours. Even the old and seemingly mundane rides have long waits. New Disney management drastically underestimates the value of nostalgia.

      3. David

Pretty darn sure you’re mistaken about that! Given that they’ve already announced it and begun moving towards it with permits for construction.

        1. Steve

Nope you’re mistaken and have been hoodwinked. No Cars is ever coming. It has not been announced and no permits have been issued and never would be issued. Pixar is leaving the Disney parks upon the company being broken up and not wanting to have to pay billions to Pixar for the rights. That means bye bye Toy Story, too.

  2. Sam

Disney needs to stop tearing down what people love and do what universal is doing build another gate (park) for people who want new things can go there versus people who want the nostalgia can go to magic Kingdom and see. Disney has thousands of acres they can build on. The bad part is the leadership team is not thinking of the guests , when you add 2 more lands to magic which is already over crowded what do you think that does to monorails and buses and other things people are waiting hours now after the park closes imagine when Disney says sweet let’s allow 8k more guests to enjoy the new lands since we have more space. Getting out of magic is a nightmare now can you imagine going forward. Even as pass holders we go to magic as a last resort it takes 30 minutes to get from your car to even in the park. Very sad what they are doing and going to continue to do. They are destroying the magic not preserving it.

    1. David

Well said. I agree, a new gate or gates would have been a better approach. I have great experiences in the area to be destroyed.

      1. I totally agree with what you said Sam. I recently went to Disney world and I was so disappointed 😞.
Change is one thing, but the magic is definitely gone,!
I asked about a once popular ride and was told they shut it down a year ago. Even the employees said it was a mistake!!!
Disney Corporation has to keep the magic alive for those who have supported the parks for many years. Walt Disney would be so disappointed in seeing what they have done to his dream and vision. I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Disney and I know he would say ” keep the traditions and parks for all the people.”
Like you said Sam, they have so much land and plenty of space to build to build ” NEW LANDS” and keep the traditions and visions of Walt Disney alive.

        1. steve

You madam need drugs and therapy. Get a grip.

    2. William Stewart Jr

      Sam,
What would you do if Disney were to just completely shut down operations of all of its’ parks forever and destroy EVERYTHING?
As much as I want Disney Execs to be more committed to building onto Walt’s Legacy and investing more into Walt’s Legacy and not be deceitful to the fans, the cast members, and Walt’s Legacy I also add that some of us need to learn to be a little bit more grateful and understanding towards this that we say that we love.
Don’t let change of what’s available in the parks cause you to change how much or should I say less that you love Disney or show Your Love for Disney.

  3. Gina

I am curious as to why they chose Cars as a theme, though I can see it fitting into the area. We can honestly be real with ourselves. I have been going to MK as a pass holder for 6 years now, I have rode Rivers of America twice, I have been to Tom Sawyers Island once. A new theme would definitely be nice! The addition of Tron was great, though I haven’t ridden the ride since they did away with the que. I can see the addition of more rides, but does this put more people in the parks? I feel that Disney just lets people come, the parks seem to have a NO capacity issue. When you stand in lines for 80 minutes +, I think the parks have an issue. None the less, we are always jonesing to make the treck into the parks, decide which ride.of the day is worth our time, eat popcorn, browse Main Street, add nee Spirit Jerseys to our collection and then go home!

  4. ROGER D STEVENS

It is not The Happiest Place on Earth anymore. Rich people are taking over and certain groups make the changes to belove attractions.

    1. Danny O.

      💯% agree!

  5. Hc labrock

WDW as we know it is gone forever. The Mickey Mouse theme that Walt originated is long gone. Times are changing and the new look may not be for the better.

    1. Danny O.

Let’s not forget Iger’s plans to reskin Main Street USA…so it doesn’t show American history, either. What does Iger have against America?!

This is why the controversy over the Hall of presidents doesn’t surprise me. It first, they were simply going to place Trump back in the spotlight. Then, they were going to close Hall of Presidents for the remaining future. I don’t even know what their plans are for it, anymore.

Splash Mountain was merely the start of Iger removing America from Disney.

      1. Steve

There is no plan to remove America from the parks and Splash Mountain is alive and well in the US. Disney has no right to remove American history from the parks. When I take over Disney and implement De-Igerfication, there will be so much patriotism and Disney will embrace American history to the point that his supporters will cry foul and pledge a boycott of all Disney products, branding a Disney a MAGA supporting company, and picket the parks. I will also try to revive plans for Disney’s America park elsewhere.

  6. I totally agree with what you said Sam. I recently went to Disney world and I was so disappointed 😞.
Change is one thing, but the magic is definitely gone,!

This article sounds like a Disney press release. Beloved Cars! Storytelling ensuring delight for generations!

  8. William Stewart Jr

    Guess what Steve,
He (King Trump) and they (the government) does not run Disney so let’s clean that lie up right now.
Remember, this is the Walt Disney Company that we are talking about not the Trump Company or Your Company.
That means if Disney wants to do something on their property which they own then they can do it or they will do it whether you or I or anybody else likes it or not. Learn to understand that and that’s only if you are truly a Disney Fan that really loves Disney.

    1. Steve

Wrong. And you will show proper respect to a military man. Trump does have the ultimate authority as President and as Commander in Chief to tell Disney how to run itself. It’s not Disney’s property at all. It’s the government’s. We’d rather have Trump running Disney than Crooked Bob and when I take over Disney it will like Trump took over. Walt would’ve been on his side on most issues along with Reagan. Trump can nationalize Disney, as well. And Frontierland is never changing, it’s a hoax, and Disney has no right to change it anyway. I’ll be enjoying the Rivers of America for the 75th in 2046. I know they’ll be there because I was already there. I know everything that will happen to Disney up to the 22nd century.

      1. Nick

Lmao, get outta here, bot. Either you’re an NPC troll, “Steve” or you’re so deluded in your own fantasies that you need to go outside and touch grass. If you are in fact real, and a “military man” (which I doubt lol) this is your sign to make an appointment at the VA and get some help. But, you’re a bot, so the point is moot.

        1. Steve

I am so a military man, married with kids and it’s illegal to disobey the military in the US or call someone a troll. Military outranks civilians. The last one to disrespect me like you is now on trial for it. Not only am I a military man, I’m a fourth generation one with a relative who marched to the sea with Sherman. I will be taking over Disney and making it great again by undoing ruining everything Bobby worked for. Disney is going back to the 20th century and will ask “What would Walt do?” to get things done again.

          1. Nick

You’re absolutely a troll with no sense of self awareness. Military doesn’t out-rank jack. You’re so caught up in your glory days, that you don’t realize that they’re over. You’re not in anymore, bud, sorry to break it to you. You’re not entitled to respect just because you had served, that’s earned regardless of what you VOLUNTARILY did. Outside of your wild fantasies, you’re not “taking over Disney.” You likely couldn’t take a hill, if you were ordered to do so. Troll.

          2. Steve

I absolutely am a military man and it’s illegal to call someone a troll in the United States. I am your superior and you take orders from me, do you understand? You answer “Yes Sir” when military ask you a question. You will admit that Disney is being broken up. Yes I am taking over Disney and am posting this from 2067 to let you know I’ve succeeded. I have taken over and broken up other companies as well like Hewlett-Packard. Disney will be great again and I will be the Trump it needs. Admission to the parks will be limited to Disney purists including those that went during Walt’s lifetime and their descendants.

          3. Nick

This guy on repeat or what? Lmao, clown. You probably had 3 days in bootcamp before you whined your way out. You either weren’t in the service, or you were a lowly grunt that couldn’t get anywhere and blamed the system. You’re an actual joke. And yes, this is what “disrespect” looks like lol

        2. Danny O.

I don’t mind his annoying “steve” persona. Well…compated to his “Anne” persona. She’s MTG & a “Karen” all in one.

I wouldn’t have known they were the same person (or bot) if they hadn’t accidentally — on TWO separate occasions — mixed up who was who.

          1. Nick

Yeah, either a bot or someone who needs some serious psychiatric intervention.

        3. Steve

Boot Camp? You mean Academy. I’m an officer.

          1. Nick

Lmao, I’ll bet you are. Although, it would connect some of the dots of how out of touch you are. All jokes aside, go kick rocks, and wake up, bot.

          2. Jon

Crazy Steve I gotta tell you I appreciate your craziness, really do. Don’t let the haters hate on you. You keep on keepin’ on with your time travelin’, military uniform salutin’, relatives in congress power trippin’ crazy talk. It makes the world a more entertaining place.

          3. Steve

No, you admit that the Rivers of America is not closing nor does Disney have any right to to do so. That’s an order and you will answer “Aye aye, sir.” Stay out of my theme parks.

          4. Nick

Make me, punk lol. “Military man” lmao. No one says that, except for bots like you. Here’s an order: Check in to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation lol

          5. Steve

Hospitals are illegal. Sit down and don’t speak unless you’re spoken to.

      2. Timtruck

“Hey look at me! I made a thread that has nothing to do with Trump all about Trump. I’m also a weirdo who is on his needs for a pedo”, right Steve? Or is that ‘sleeve?” LOL

      3. Meltigger

Steve, Dude you must be on some good stuff. Let us know because it must be good for the delusion you are living. I love Disney of the past. I support Trump. But not dictatorship. And if you can buy Disney what is stopping you? Maybe the trillions it would cost? Do you own any business or have an idea what it takes to run one? I would hazard no from your comments

        1. Steve

This is serious and I can confirm from the year 2067 that I did succeed in taking over Disney and it’s no longer a publicly owned company. We can talk to people in the past and yes time travel is real. I helped invent it and can create alternate timelines like Biff Tannen did. I am not CEO but Owner the way sports teams have. I will own Disney like the Steinbrenners own the New York Yankees and I don’t answer to anyone except Walt himself and I have ways of contacting him. I have the money and means to take over Disney and as a military man, I used your taxes to help. Disney is not a business and I will not treat it like one. It’s a private club.

          1. Jon

Thank you Crazy Steve for making my morning a little more fun. It’s nuts like you that make comment threads fun to read. Side note, if King George were alive today then he would have fired Cashman a long time ago!

  9. John

How can they be committed to keeping the nostalgic charm of Frontierland when they are planning to demolish Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America for something that has NOTHING to do with the Frontier? They are deluded if they actually believe that.

They have enough new things with Cars Land, Villains, and the new Encanto stuff that I personally think that they have enough to start a new park. I’m sure there are at least a couple of other things that could be added to those in order to justify the expenditure.
    Just a thought.

  10. Stan

What angers me is they are removed a long standing original attraction in Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade that was available to all park attendees for a exclusive Disney Vacation Club Member lounge.

  11. Craig

    I thought I left a post, I don’t see it.

I don’t like how Disney doesn’t announce many closures.

  12. Youknowitstrue

What the actual F is happening to Disney world!!!!

    1. Anonymous

Being ruined by corporate greed >:(

  13. Phil A

It’s not your parents Disney World any longer.

Are they taking away the Big Al Bear Jamboree too? How sad 🙁

  14. Dliver

I first went to Disney World in 1975 and fell in love with the place. When I moved to Florida in 1986 my family and I quickly became annual passholders. My daughter basically grew up on Disney World property. Sad to say we also witnessed the slow changes that took place. Disney caring less and less for their fans. Disney caring less for the quality of the experience in the parks and allowing everything fall into general disrepair and shabbyness. We also saw the growth of greed and desire for the quick buck with less customer care. So that’s why last year we quit getting season passes and will never again go to Disney World again.

The mistake Disney is making is not trying to change or add things to the parks. The mistake is ignoring the history and the vision Walt had for the parks. They have plenty of room to add a new areas to the park. But the management of Disney doesn’t want to use that land. They want to totally change the parks into their vision of the parks and destroy Walt’s vision just like they did with Star Wars and George Lucas’s vision. So what you’re eventually going to end up with is mediocre overpriced theme parks that no one will be able to afford to go to or want to go to. Disney management poisons everything it touches today. It’s so sad to see such an icon in entertainment fall like Disney has.

    1. Tony

Have you been drinking today sir?

  15. Lori

Destroying Tom Sawyer Island is a travesty. There are still kids who enjoy the simplicity of the outdoors without need for technology. I didn’t know “Cars” would be considered an improvement. The only improvement necessary is doing something about the crazy lines at the most popular attractions.

  16. David

I have said this repeatedly. And I will say it again! Disney has three parks with no more than eight or nine ride attractions in them! Yet, they charge premium ticket prices. I have never seen a cars movie, this is so upsetting we were engaged in Disneyland where Mickey Mouse himself presented me my engagement ring a year later we had our Honeymoon in Disney World. These are sacred places where we had been handfuls of times to be at these magical places. I know Walt always encouraged change but this along with Splash mountain is a place I don’t recognize anymore. Tom Sawyer was so important to Walt, and the Paddle steamer is that gone too. Enough already Dinoland shows how important these places are to people, $ is that the factor shame Walt and Roy created these special places why do you constantly ruin their legacy.
