I spent 12 days at Pop Century last fall. At that time there was construction going in the food court. Even with all the work being done, the CMs were helpful, happy and always made sure I got what I needed. Disney will be in trouble if they would lose more and more of their most valuable asset-their CAST MEMBERS!!!!
They didn’t work. The system misidentified our order, which was 2 mugs and 2 sandwiches, repeatedly. The poor cat member worked with it for 5 minutes and it never got it right. It was also hard to correct. By the time it got the order right, 3 groups had gone through the checkout with the cast member running the register. Not ready.
Leave the cast members. That’s what made Disney magical in many ways. I am not for going digital and all this mobile app stuff. Everybody’s walking around on their phones. Been going to Disney for almost 50 years and it’s really gone downhill in the last five years. Sorry. Still my happy place but I make amends and do just the things I like to do and talk to the cast members.
I used Masgin at a Hospital for a whole year. Many problems and a lot of theft. Even from Doctors and Nurses. Hard to read codes misidentified meals and other items. It is a work in progress. Support was hard to get and training was not a priority.
First and foremost, CM’s are the best and should never be replaced by AI!!! EVER!!! However, I think it would be cool to have an order taken and/or filled by an animatronic. Imagine telling Darth Vader, “You will fulfill YOUR destiny and complete my order”. LOL!!
