    I’m glad Disney has decided to put Luke, Han & Leia back into the movies. Hopefully Disney can hire some directors that can adapt books into film, especially from the extended universe. There are continuity issues, but that can be corrected in film. Also, if Disney wants to DEI some of the characters that’s fine. There are also other strong female character leads in the extended universe books they can adapt.

        DEI is just shorthand for characters portrayed as non-straight white male. It is like a neon sign over your head yelling “I am a bigot!”

          Your just Plain wrong. DEI is just checking off a box. It’s switching out established characters with DEI/SJW BS to make small, certain group of people happy, who never truly are. Instead of making newer characters, fleshing them out, making them believable and likeable, which 99.9% of the time, their not. So 99.9% of the time, it’s not that “you’re a bigot!”, it’s that THEY SUCK A**.

        I disagree, the true fans just want to see Star wars the way it was intended, with a good story and following the lore and the direction the EU had started before Disney came in and through it all in the trash.

    Personally, even though they are iconic I think it’s a weak move, based upon dwindling viewership on things that stray from those original characters. Don’t kneel to the week minded masses, that need a face for a franchise, it’s a giant universe with many stories to tell many have yet to be written. & Yes I’d like to know what happens to the characters following the original trilogy in a better way than the numerous bills that have been published.. & would be great as an animated series.. the continuing adventures of …
    But I think it’s more important to find other great characters in that incredible universe. Everyone wants to see the most powerful my dad can beat your dad showdowns, but they’re not important they’re one of Avp…
    Keep the universe alive for both youth& adults, even if that may mean more modernized adult content (adults these days have issues) start wars meets GOT, John wick, …
    They may need to get dark, even darker than they have already gotten, but at the same time give inspiration towards adventure like Skeleton Crew…
    & Find better ways to decrease the budget without sacrificing quality. Feels weird saying that when I didn’t understand prices anymore anyway they relate today’s millions to yesterday’s & that’s not fair things didn’t cost the same by a long shot even from 10 years ago.. & expectations have gotten higher.. make$ the old fashioned way of need be, through merchandising🤪 keep making good accessible storylines, but if you merchandise, didn’t be cheap about it either the old toys & lunch boxes were off better quality than many we have today….

    As a life-long fan (53 y/o) of almost all things Star Wars, I am more than a little concerned at the number of times the word “reimagine” was used, regarding the original characters! Frankly, even once was probably too many!
    I absolutely want to see more about Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, R2-D2, C-3PO, and more, and their continuing adventures, but, I want those characters, not “reimagined” versions of them! I understand that the roles need to be recast, but that needs to be done very carefully, with an eye towards maintaining the true spirit and feel of the original portrayals!

      The sequels ruined anything that they put in between RotJ and Force Awakens. If they create any new characters that we like (Grogu/Din/Skeleton Crew), where are they for the sequels? Any new Jedi from Luke’s new academy are likely dead, any older characters from rebels are likely dead, because they weren’t in the sequels.
      Yes, it was 30 years later, and Grogu will only be 80, but there’s no reference to Mandalore, because it was filmed after the sequels. Same for the kids from Skeleton Crew.
      Also, they ruined Finn’s character arc, and Poe didn’t really have a character arc, not to mention whether those actors want to return to expand on those characters.

    I’m 48 years old and a life long fan of Star Wars!! I’m just going to say it…. This new age of Star Wars isn’t the same as the Original!! Episodes 7-9 were visually amazing, but making Rey the last Jedi who has to rebuild the Jedi Order when she doesn’t even fully know about the force and how to use it and never would I thought Lucas Films would make a feminist move like that!!! I also killing off Han and Luke the way they did was trash, now I understand about Leia with Carrie Fisher Passing away in real life, but come on they could have found better ways to do things in the last 3 episodes. I’m happy to see that the comics are staying true to Star Wars!! Ever Since Disney got its hands on Star Wars its’s been going down hill!!!

        The word “reimagined” is not comforting to me..they’re already characters that have been created, like people that have personalities, and people are literally emotionally attached to them, so why change them? There are many more characters that haven’t been fully formed to do your virtue- signaling, DEI crap, (which does not sell well anyway)

    OK, I’m going to be brutally honest… Episodes 7, 8, and 9 were awful, truly terrible. I could write for days about all of the idiotic mistakes that were made. But I will move on.
    I don’t have any faith that Disney won’t screw up again, but miracles could happen. It would be awesome to rebuild the Star Wars universe into something worthy of its beginning, and retcon 7, 8, and 9 out of existence. There have been some good stuff along the way, but I wonder if anyone at Disney has the guts and wisdom to continue the story properly. Only time will tell.

    We need Star Wars episode 3.5!!!
    We all wanted to see Vader and the rise of the Empire.
    The prequels were good, but we didn’t get to see what we really wanted. So i vote for episode 3,5

    1,2,3,4,5 and 6 are solid. Don’t change anything. There is a vast world before and after that can be used for future movies using which ever actors and creating great stories. I don’t mind some DEI k8nd of addition as long as it’s not forced and fits without ruining the feel that the original Star Wars 4,5,6 presented. Story before political agenda. I want to be entertained not educated.

    Yes we all know what “re-imagine” is code for in Disney’s world: Make all the previously strong white male characters weak, and replace them with strong women – preferably black ones. No one ACTUALLY cares about race, what we care about is weak characters with the most feeble of story arcs put there to “represent”.

  10. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and 9 are perfect but there is an unlimited amount of content before and after and also in between each movie I vote that rise of the empire and shadows of the empire should have either a TV series or a movie I would also love to see a TV series that incorporates some of the other things going on in the Galaxy that doesn’t involve the main storyline or main characters kind of like what Star wars rebels was doing

      789 were garbage, they destroyed the lore. I’m all for them creating a new hero to follow like Rey, however destroying the original characters legacies at the same time is what got them in so much trouble. If they wanted to get away from the original characters they should have started by moving well past there timeline and began there with new characters. Imho they should have ended the OG cast as the heroes they were and not washed up has beens and failures. They could have even setup the new characters with a small portion in the new films of a passing of the torch so to speak, with aged Luke, Leia, etc.

    The biggest, most epic and genuine move Disney could make for Star Wars, that would win instant accolades from the huge fanbase it disenfranchised would be to bring back Cara Dune, the former Rebel shock trooper who becomes a mercenary after the Galactic Civil War… the skilled badass female fighter that has a strong hatred for the Galactic Empire. THAT would be the perfect start to correcting this disaster..

    The word “Reimagining” is already putting a bad taste in my mouth. If Luke gets reimagined in the most egregious ways possible, that’s it. This does not bode well for the franchise. If they think they’re attracting fans, they’re doing the opposite. They’re just pushing fans away with their BS.
