A shame. Sad. The best in universal studios park.
Many other rides should close before this one… Man in Black, Simpson, fast and furious, minions.
Rockit is one of the few Adrenalin and exciting rides in the park. Unfortunate decision.
Yeah, it is sad, but there are plenty of other coasters in the park that you can ride and still get the rush.
However, I do agree that the Fast and Furious “ride” should be closed and reopened as another ride/attraction that should be better. I’m a huge fan of those movies, but that ride is lame.
Unfortunately the coaster is a heck of a lot larger than the F&F footprint, and it is in a prime location.
Rip Ride RockIt is definitely past its prime. The ride, although unique, is so rough, and has way too many occasions of guests get stuck in breakdowns requiring rescues by Orange County Fire Department.
The developer is no longer in business, which would make it extremely difficult if the ride needed new parts.
Rip Ride RockIt doesn’t run if it is raining, cold or windy, which, except for the cold temperatures, in Florida, is pretty often. The song list, which was the huge draw has sadly been cut from 30 songs to only 5.
Although Rip Ride RockIt is undeniably most thrilling ride In Universal Studios, Florida, with so many advances in Rollercoaster technology and the speculation that Intimin may be the new developer, I don’t think Universal Studios Florida has to worry about loosing its most exciting ride. I believe it will gain a real showstopper!
The company that built the coaster absolutely IS still in business. They have been in business since the 1870s. Maurer Söhne is a German based Steel manufacturing company that builds all sorts of steel structures all over the world. They simply changed their name to Maurer AG, but are still as financially strong as ever.

Hahaha you really think it’s a rough ride?! You must be sheltered if you think it’s rough.

It’s already closed and boarded up. It says temporary but we were sad when we visited last week.

It is sad to hear about it going, but I can’t wait for the replacement ride/attraction that will be built in its place.
