This feels like Disney’s FAFO moment. They F’ed around with Splash Mountain (one of the most leading attractions in their parks). And now they get to find out.
No. Disney is generally FAFO. That ride was falling apart as Splash MT. I recently got evacuated off the ride. They were strict on no pics. I can tell you how it looks in the infrastructure of that mountain looks like they haven’t touched it since the 80s and there was garbage and beer cans thrown around. I was like who exactly approves this is safe to ride??
This ride is a big disappointment. The animatronics and scenes are nothing special. And the music is lousy, nothing catchy about it. Save your wait time and put it somewhere else, it’s not worth it. Big waste of time.
Pay attention to the bunny with the sign. The sign is between his legs; and he appears to be “stroking” that sign. Kid friendly? Only if they don’t notice how happy that rabbit looks while stroking his…sign.
Other than that, it seems like Disney put together something just for the “We’ll tell you what you want!” mentality that they have. They changed a ride that had no issues. And now? Not really a good trade…was it?
No issues? Splash Mountain was well known for constanting malfunctioning/breaking down (especially in the last decade), despite the ride going through several refurbishments over the years to try and fix the issues that kept popping up. Paired with its age, the ride was just getting way too expensive to constantly fix and maintain it so around 2018 Disney finally made the decision to completely update/overhaul the entire attraction instead.
This is what happens when you sack all your most skilled imagineers and replace them with people who are less talented. If you can’t gain employment on your own merits, without playing the DEI card, you don’t deserve the job. Everything about this ride is lacklustre and banal. The finished standard is dreadful and I do not care what Disney claims, several slightly swaying cactus are not, and never will, be an animatronic.
It isn’t just the chilly weather. Went to Disneyland for two days and rode it once because it wasn’t fun. It was pretty bland, they changed the drops, and the music was terrible. Even my kids complained it was boring. I left Splash Mountain but understood the update. But it wasn’t great at all, they should have just left it alone.
Rode Disney World Tiana Place last week. Two different animatronics were out of sync. One of Louis the alligator animatronics outfit looked terrible. The area around the neck displayed the internal padding.
Recently returned from WDW. Wasn’t impressed at all with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Found it to be fairly boring, I didn’t notice anything broken, but I wasn’t looking for that, either.
I found the new Tiana story line not relateable to the log ride. What does finding a recipe have to do with a log ride? The Splash theme and music was fun and left us feeling happy and excited. We got off Tiana (Disneyland Resort) and just felt blah and confused. We did not see anything racist or controversial in Splash. Also, the Disney RR used to give you a long glimpse of Splash. Now, you see Tiana for a split second. Blah.
It really does seem to be cursed. All I’ve read time and time again is how it keeps breaking down. Geez!!!! I wish that they still had Splash Mountain. Oh well.
That would have worked…if Iger wasn’t trying to reduce Muppets. The roller coaster being reskinned to include Muppets doesn’t really make up for tearing down the Muppet section of Disney…in order to save an unused parking lot from gaining a purpose.

They should have left Splash Mountain. Disney is erasing history… just like politicians. Maybe it’s karma that both new rides are cursed!

There is no reason to ride when there are other things to ride…

Disney movies and shows and rides have all fallen victims to wokeness agenda

Karma! When you let politics creep into entertainment, it is never good.

Kermit’s Swamp Adventure. They missed an opportunity to make this ride really fun.
